Pentair Ultra Temp heat pump keeps shutting down every two hours

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond. Everything shuts off. The pump, heater, SWG, everything. To switch it back on I go to my fuse box, find the 60AMP switch, flip it off, wait five seconds and switch it back on again. Everything starts running again.

Pentair Ultra Temp heat pump keeps shutting down every two hours

Hi there, My heat pump keeps shutting down approx. every two hours. It will shut down all my equipment however will not trip the breaker at the fuse box. Extremely frustrated because I replaced the capacitor but it has continued. Without the heater switched on my equipment runs normally. I use...

Pentair Ultra Temp heat pump 125K BTU alarm

Hi there, turned on our heat pump two days ago because we're going to have a warm week with temps in the 70's. I've been hearing a short low pitch alarm signal about once every two minutes. Nothing shows up on the display as far as any specific alarm message. The fan is running. The pool temp...

    Test results!

Thanks John. I'm assuming the sock in front of the return is preferred over the sock in the skimmer basket. Living in Texas it doesn't take much to get the water warm. Although at this temp I don't find it particularly refreshing but my wife and kids love it and keeping them happy makes my life...

    Test results!

Richard320, thanks for the advice. My pump only runs for 12 hours a day so I'm assuming it's still ok for the sock to be hanging there while off? I don't plan on backwashing my cartridge filter anytime soon so could I just pour the granular CYA into the skimmer? Take basket out first or not...

    Test results!

Added a small jug of Clorox last night. If I purchase granular CYA would I just pour it directly into my skimmer? The issue is I have to empty my skimmer basket every day due to being surrounded by Oak trees. Not sure if I should remove basket first or not.

    Test results!

Hi everybody, this is my first posting of test results since our pool was built in January of this year. Please let me just mention that I was foolish enough to take a sample of our water to Leslie's about a month ago and after finding my CH level to be 160ppm they suggested I add 20 pounds of...

Brand new pump dead after 6 weeks

UnderWaterVanya you were correct. Pentair came out again and replaced the breaker. They said the incorrect breaker was used with the variable speed pump.

Brand new pump dead after 6 weeks

Thank you for the responses. UPDATE: My pool builder just called me a few minutes ago to tell me that he has scheduled a Pentair technician to come out and take a look. And then he tells me to switch off/on the reset breaker at the panel to start the pump again!!!!! WHAT??? The pump started up...

Brand new pump dead after 6 weeks

Hi everyone, I am so frustrated. Just completed our pool install last Friday and our brand new Pentair Intelliflo variable speed pump just died after six measly weeks. Our heat pump had the pool at 90 degrees this morning and upon my return home from work this evening the temp was 65. I new...

I humbly ask you to opine on a new Central Texas build.

That's a really good price for everything you got. Thanks for the comparison. We are not getting a spa. We were actually considering whether or not a heater was needed in Austin. And yes, you are correct, paying upfront is foolish and not worth the discount. Won't be going that route. Thanks...

bigdav160, you're correct about there not being many fiberglass installers around here. We're beginning to realize we may have to go gunite. Just liked the low maintenance, low chemicals less long term expenses that fiberglass tends to offer. And yes, it was pay in full upfront.

Oh, please don't be sorry. I made the comment mostly in jest. I will most definitely be doing a lot more research on this site as well. Thanks for enlightening me.

Holy Crud, you guys have me confused. I thought I knew a decent amount of info but apparently not. I"ll be doing a fair amount of research on the main drain and ph increasing issues as well as the MA issue.

HouTex - Will look into that, thanks! Bluegrassman - Will ask about a second skimmer. Agree on the lights. He originally said 4 and then 5 appeared in the contract. Thanks.

Good catch JohnT. Didn't notice that. We know about the issues with salt and stone and are actually using Belgard concrete pavers and coping. Supposedly these hold up to salt water. The PB is not doing the deck but is allowing us to buy the pavers wholesale through him.
