Main Page links (Pool School, etc) all go to troublefreepool.com/blog

Like the subject line, any link I click just takes me to the /blog homepage. If I do a forum search, I can get to threads, unless they're posts by TFP (like Pool School articles, etc). Is it just me? I've turned off Ghostery, etc, just running a plain-jane version of Firefox on a Win10 machine.

Wanted: clear dome for Triton II filter, but they're NLA?

I've got 2 Triton II TR-140 filters, installed 1985, and both have their original clear domes (p/n 15-4678) - which I love because you can SEE what's going on inside the filter. One of my domes got cracked when the filter plugged (sucking mud from a cracked skimmer line), and the pressure spike...

    Liquidator function/operation questions

DIY "Mega-Liquidator"? Here's what I'm thinking of putting in the pump-house of the Camp's 144,000-gallon pool, trying to feed around 1.3 gallons of CL per day. Take a 55-gallon drum, maybe fit some clear hose from top side to bottom side of the drum as a sight gauge of the CL depth. Drill...

Roughly how much aeration to raise pH?

There's never really been enough water pressure or flow to feed my slide, so I recently put my Harbor Freight utility pump to work - 3000GPH makes a HUGE difference! Then I got to thinking; "hey, lookit all those bubbles - that oughta be a good way to aerate and get the pH back up after I dose...

Fill water has low CH, but pool water is high CH?

Using my TF-100 kit w/ speedstir, today I tested not only the pool, but also the water coming out of the well I use to fill/replenish, and here are the results: Well FC = 0 CYA = 0 pH = 7.2 TA = 440-450 CH = 350 Pool FC = 11.5 CC = 0 CYA = 60 pH = 7.2 TA = 120 CH = 525 No real surprises there...

In the CH test, is light purple same as blue?

With the TF-100 kit's CH test, it says to count drops until the sample turns from red to blue. When I test for CH, the sample starts off pink, and goes to light purple at 36 drops, but it takes a total of 44-46 drops to get the purple to slowly change to an actual light blue. Same results with...

CPO Certification - which one, and for what?

So...I've been maintaining this Camp pool and learning about pool chemistry for 5 years now, and one of my Board Members asked me the other day if I was interested in becoming a Certified Pool Operator. I hadn't thought about it, but I've been looking into some sort of professional pool training...

Anybody else use an AquaVac Aqua King (or newer Commander)?

Like the subject says, anybody else using one of these robot beasts? I LOVE mine in my large pool, although now that Hayward bought out AquaVac and got "organized", it takes 2-3 weeks to get parts instead of the 2-3 days it used to take ordering direct from AquaVac (grr...) His name is...

    Howdy from Buffalo Gap, TX

Glad to be registered here finally, been lurking and reading for awhile. I work on an inground plaster 40 X 80 144,000 gallon main pool with a 3,000gallon wading pool, surrounded by huge oak and pine trees in a west Texas oasis called Buffalo Gap. This pool was built in 1985, *inside* the...

Sand filters are filtering ok, but pressure never rises?

This is at a 144,000gallon church-camp pool with 2 pumps and filters that run 24/7. Last summer we changed out the 10-year-old sand for new sand from a reputable local pool supply, and checked the laterals inside - everything looked/felt good. But ever since then the filters seem to be...
