Changed Sand, now sand is coming into pool

Dont think I overfilled, filter says 350lbs on the sticker and I used (7) 50lbs bags. Seemed about 2/3 full. What's the best way to pull the sand out to reuse? I just dumped all the old sand out thru the drain hole and hosed it into the yard. Shop vac and 5 gallon buckets?

Changed Sand, now sand is coming into pool

First time I have worked on my own filter. Was pretty careful with the lateral and didn't see any cracks or damage. I did take the bottom spokes apart as I am switching over from Baqua and had a lot of pink goo stuck in about half of them, but everything seemed to go back together correctly...

    Day 3 of conversion

No worries, thanks for reply. Since it appears the FC dissipates extremely rapidly with the sun hitting. my current plan is to just wait to this evening and then start loading up on the chlorine when the sun is off the pool. Does this seem like a good strategy? Also, how long after adding the...

    Day 3 of conversion

My next question is - can people go in the pool at this stage of the conversion? If either the water may not be a good experience, or it would slow the conversion process I would not want to do it obviously. Current condition: Water is crystal clear and looks great, pump is running at 19-20lbs...

    Day 3 of conversion

Think things are getting there but still having issues getting FC to 15. Water cleared up last week and no longer turns green when adding chlorine but still have never got the FC level to 15. Last night added chlorine twice in the amounts Pool Math said to but the reading was only 7.5 with a CC...

    Day 3 of conversion

May have some progress. Went and ran some errands, including picking up another 12 gallons of chlorine. Got back and water was noticeably clearer, though still green. Also saw for first time a bunch of yellow deposits on bottom. Maybe because of earlier brushing it clumped up and sank...

    Day 3 of conversion

When I put them in the skimmer I was actually surprised how quickly they dissolved. Usually 2-3 days and gone. Was planning on buying a new floater if I continue using as they make cleaning the skimmer baskets more difficult. So I think I am hearing it should be okay to put some in a new...

Hi - New member in Middle TN

Thanks! Have read that a few times. Just started a new thread in the conversion Forum with some questions on my exact situation. Hope I didn't ask anything that the article already covers.

Hi - New member in Middle TN

Just registered and looking for guidance on converting to the TFP system. Pool is about 4 years old and has been on Baqua since day one. I bought the house about 1 1/2 years ago and have been shocked by the chemical cost. Been doing a fair bit of lurking but now to the point of starting to...
