    Long Concrete Driveway

I was surprised at how little fiberglass pools weigh, 30 foot pool would be about 3000 pounds. I don't need a crane, just a flatbed that isn't too heavy.

    Long Concrete Driveway

A forest borders the driveway on both sides. I looked up the average weight of an excavator and it's 60,000 pounds. It hurts that I have 2 acres of grass in the backyard , easy access down my driveway, but heavy equipment could be too costly if I have to replace major portions of a 350 foot...

    Long Concrete Driveway

I have a 350 foot concrete driveway. I'm wishing it was gravel or it soon might be. I've previously built a pool where the builders could protect my driveway from heavy equipment, most notably the cement mixer. But a 350 foot driveway seems impossible to protect. I'm thinking a vinyl pool...

    black algae?

I have the same issue. Just a few black dots, but I want to get rid of them. Purchased a Pentair stainless steel brush. Does not remove the pebbles, but it does dull the color where it's noticeable in certain light. I tested in a not so noticeable site and I'm glad I did. Ordering a...

    No drain acid wash

I just wanted to do a follow-up. It's been 6 months and the gray mottling has not returned. As suggested, I've kept my PH level around 7.2 as I was told a higher level would risk the gray mottling returning.

Keeping Pool PH in the low 7's

The Taylor PH test does not measure PH below 7. I want to keep my pool PH between 7 and 7.2. I'm testing if this PH level keeps my grey mottling issues in check, so far so good. When the Taylor test result indicates my pool PH is 7 I'm concerned that my PH might be below 7. Because 7 is the...

    No drain acid wash

I was thinking PH, but as you pointed out my pool guy is raising the TA which is now 40. From the pool calculator looks like I have another 11 pounds of baking soda to go as he wants to keep my pool at a TA of 80 and a PH of 7. His view is keeping my pool at these numbers will reduce the...

    No drain acid wash

It appears to have worked for me. I had sever grey mottling. It was classic. It started almost immediately after my pool was filled for the first time. It wasn't bad enough to re-plaster, especially after the entire pool project took 4 months (addition to the house, etc.). By the time...

Best way to add granulated CYA?

Is there a problem adding CYA to the skimmer if I have a heat pump hooked up after my pump and filter? If the CYA gets stuck in the filter, after it dissolves it will be flowing through my heat pump - wondering if this will be corrosive? Randy
