I’ve had it for 3 seasons now, and still shooting sand into the pool, about a handful every week or so. I’ll look at the auto vacuum though, could be a good addition!

That would be a good idea if doing it from scratch, but not worth it now, until mine fail. Is that the cartridge pump or the sand? I’m second guessing getting the sand filter, all I do is vacuum sand out of the pool. Guess you get what you pay for...

Ah, I see. The problem wasn’t with the valve itself though, but rather my inexperienced job of using pipe sealant with PVC. It was the threads that were leaking.

I can confirm that all three of these seals I made in fact are leak free!

The good news, is that the handmade gaskets on the pool fittings worked perfectly, without any leaks!

Decided to go ahead and replace all the 1-1/4" fittings on the pool. Ordered all my parts from Intex (minus one strainer nut, because of Intex's dumb quantity limiting, so eBay got my money instead). Had to piece together pump hoses, and adapters to get all my hose nuts for the same reasons...

So this mimics a 1.5" hose, correct? But you mention putting a 1.25" PVC inside...is there a way to keep it at 1.5" PVC after the adapter?

Another option would be to use the 1-1/4" hoses on the strainers, but find a way to connect them to a T that had a single 1-1/2" exit, and just go bigger from there. Saves me from cutting two holes in the liner.

Well, unfortunately, this pool uses all 1-1/4" hoses and fittings, even the T is 1-1/4" all the way around. Bummer. The new 2800 gph sand filter pump will be here Monday, and it appears that I have misplaced, or got rid of all my 1-1/2" hoses, plunger valves, and pool fittings...I can't...

I've had this one for 3 years now and been really happy with it. When the pool is not up, we use it inside the house for other things like humidifiers. I like the fact that it still has a big on/off button that can be used manually, like when needing to use the vac. Aube by Honeywell TI062/U...

Ah, I missed your reply initially. Sounds more like our smaller 12' pools may not have the larger hose coming out of the T. Guess I'll have to wait and see if I'll have to make modifications or not.

Ok, well, I'll have the pool on Friday, so I'll know for sure then. Planning on buying the pump at Walmart tomorrow.

Alright everyone. The last 3 years we had a 12x30 EasySet pool with the combo pump and SWCG (1-1/2" plumbing). This was accomplished with cutting the holes in the side of the EasySet pool bigger to allow for the larger connections. Worked great, no leaks or anything. I want to do the same...

My electrolytic cell started leaking at one of the pins where the plug connects. Called customer service, and they are sending a replacement cell. Granted, I still have my GFCI plug, but chances are, you'll never have to ship Intex the unit for inspection. I just think that the cell on this...
