Opening Pool...Day 25, Work Your Magic ProTeam's MM

Re: Opening Pool...Day 22, How long is it safe to shock? Well you definitely still need to keep shocking as you are still dealing with algae with loss of FC overnight. Your progress is evident, so just keep at it. I would bump it up a little more than schock level so you can catch it before it...

    3rd Install still has problems

Re: Can this be fixed??? To me it looks like an unfinished job and if not unfinished to them, then some lack of dedication on getting it placed properly. If it were my installation, I think I would have them come take a look at it again or at least explain (because I haven't been around or done...

    Oh, No!!....

LMAO  Had I really thought it was true, I would've been in the pool on my new lounger with a boat load of beer  even if the water still isn't warm yet.

My conversion with a few pics

Very nice set up :goodjob: and thankful for the pics, especially one of the rock path to the pool. Want to show my hubby that pic as we want to do something like that. Tired of the dogs wearing paths in the yard. Figure they will use the rock path because they don't like the dew in the morning...

Any effective cheap way to keep away mosquitos?

Get a BIG fan :-D We usually use the fan if we are right on the deck and Tiki Torches around the pool, but looking for other alternatives for around the yard. Our neighbor is a breeding ground which sucks because we do everything we can to keep them at bay. Nothing like getting attacked like...

New Owner South of Buffalo NY!

Well I am sure you will get the hang of the vacuum and you and your wife may battle who gets to clean the pool but I can tell you now, you will need a bigger lawnmower for your nice pretty grass. That little one just isn't going to cut it :-)

Fickle Mother Nature - maybe opening pool by June?

Glad NWMNMom to hear you had a great opening... Now if your like us, just a patient wait for the water to warm up. We almost got to 80 last week, then back down below 70 this week. Sounds like it is going to be a short hot summer.

What is your favorite pool toy?

Can't play with my favorite toy, but I sure can lay on it. I must say, my favorite toy in the pool is my lounger, any kind, shape, or texture.....just as long as I can float (and usually fall asleep) on it... pure bliss 8-)

    Algae and Ice?

Thank you and agreed that in my particular situation was "painless" I didn't mean to sound like it always is for everyone. I did have quite a bit of organic material myself and pulled out as much as I could with my net (bending my pole in process); figured that the less work the chemicals had to...

    Algae and Ice?

Soooo just thought I'd let all know that the algae ice monster is GONE from my pool. Started on Saturday...done by Tuesday (technically Monday am). Just letting the filter run through the rest of the week to help getting it back to sparkling. Really is a painless process as long as you know what...

Welcome  Just in case, maybe take a second sample to another pool store and get their results. If it were me, I'd want to take make sure my CYA was that high before having to do a partial drain, etc with your size pool. Course, that is the second thing I'd do.. first would be ordering a...

    Algae and Ice?

Thank you all for clearing that up for me...geez, I think I will wait but it will drive me crazy. Now I just want to add the ugly cover so I don't have to look at it. Thanks to this website and the BBB method I have found here, this is the first time in four years I can say I have to cure an...

    Algae and Ice?

So...decided to try the "no cover" this year and have had an exceptionally cold winter. Up to last week, we had a frozen pool, not sure how deep it was. The ice started melting and the water looked a little dirty to me under the ice...thought it might just be dust on top of the ice. Then as the...
