ok so would it be advisable to keep it at 7.0 as much as possible. since I can't lower the CH in this area without RO water lol. And would this prevent future scaling issues?

We have a 12x24 vinyl pool that we are going to be replacing the liner next season due to the extensive calcium scaling we have on our current liner of 3 years. We have very hard well water and was wondering if there is a way to prevent this scaling from the start up. Our specs of fill water...

    Pool still cloudy

it's a 12x24x4' vinyl above ground pool. the filter is 1.5hp pump with 22inch sand filter. I do believe the first week I didn't keep a good constant shock level but added several bags of dichlor, so my cya is probably around 40-45 according to the calculator. I have now however switched to...

I'll have to test, but when i retested tonight, of course there was a lot of people in the pool today and it has been about 100 outside consistantly it read 0ppm of fc. Should I increase the CYA to account for the hot climate and bathing load? Also should I go ahead and shock the pool a good...

    new pool help

Our pool has been up for about 2 weeks now, and it seems like it is using a lot of chlorine. It is a 12x24 4ft deep. I guess about 6400 gals. It has been shocked when we first set it up, but seems the chlorine disappears rapidly. We havn't had any algae blooms, but I am getting worried that...

    Help Lowering High TA

ok so basically the pH has nothing to do with lowering the TA other than the fact you can't get the pH below 7 without causing problems. Adding acid is what lowers TA.

    Help Lowering High TA

ok so i got 2 gal of the good stuff, and have lowered the pH to around 7, and have pointed the powerhead up to aerate the water. I think the Alk is closer to 200 or less, but it's hard to tell. What do i need to do now, do i need to keep the pH at about 7 until the alk is lowered, or let it...

    Help Lowering High TA

We recently filled up our pool about 6400gal, with well water, and have high TA. I have been trying to lower the TA with Muriatic acid (the percent is <25% as shown by msds). But doesn't seem to be doing much. It has lowered the pH a little, but not like what i thought. Is it better to keep...
