    Algecide and CYA

I've been adding chlorine to the pool since May 8 with scooping leaves and brushing at least daily. I had the pool guy come out May 13 and start up the pump and heater. He also added algecide because he said he does it every year to our pool. But secretly I think he was mistaken and believe...

It took from june 25 to july 5 to go from swamp to murky blue. No chemicals or pump before june 25. I was using the tablets from last...

    MN Frost heave

Thanks for your reply. The deck shouldn't be touching the pool sides, it wasn't when my husband originally constructed the deck. I will have to do a little bit of investigating and see if things have shifted since construction. The pool installer didn't think the deck was the problem. By...

No pool care for 4-6 months

We are looking at doing a major renovation to our house next year. Ideally it will start as soon as the ground thaws (basement dig out) in April/May and then continue with remodeling. We are anticipating not living at the house for 4-6 months. I would imagine there will be no electricity or...

Ash in air making pool water green

Hi, The pool guy was out today and warned me that he's had 20 pools go "green" because of the ash in the air from the forest fires out west. He recommends adding "filter aid" if I experience any green and the chlorine looks good. Any thoughts?

    Where to start

Hi everyone, We pulled the winter cover off yesterday (Saturday). Scooped a few leaves out, lightly scrubbed the walls and put the solar cover on. The pool guy is coming on Friday to get the pump and heater ready to go. I hope to get the chemicals where they need to be before he comes...

    Artic Armour winter cover

I don't remember what tarp we bought but it was suppose to drain the rain water through. We had to get it really taut to be able to get the rain water to drain through the mesh. Yours doesn't look tight enough for this to happen.

    AGP Equpiment Suggestions

I don't have enough expertise to recommend any equipment/price comparisons. Where are you located? A heater might be in your future and sometimes that is easier to plumb in for now even if you don't add it until later. Also, why salt water? From the posts I have seen on this site, I haven't...
