Hi All. I have to replace an area of tile around the top of my attached hot tub (above the water). Do I have to use special pool tile or can I use big box store ceramic/glass? This area would get wet (splashing/rain etc) but is not submerged. Any thoughts would be helpful. Not so much...

@Spitdog Are you completely removing the pump (like an intelliflo) and bringing it inside? Sounds like a good idea - and don't know why I have never done that! Anyone else remove theirs in the winter?

I'm sure this isn't what you mean - but just in case - filters usually have a large, square topped drain plug toward the bottom (facing down to the ground). The O rings go on them and need to be replaced. Just a thought.

Update: It was the front (wet-end) bearing. Completely fell apart once I removed the motor and split the case. Took me a bit to figure out how to extract the outer race from the hub (ended up welding a bead around the inside of the race and it contracted enough to knock it out). Replaced the...

It seems to spin freely as far as I can tell. Is the only way to check on the bearings by pulling the motor and dissembling?

Mine went on and off by hand (use two hands). Otherwise one of those rubber oil filter types works well
