    Pool tile vs regular ceramic

Thanks for your help! Spoke with a Lacticrete rep - who suggested multimax lite. Will be tackling this project tomorrow with any luck.

    Pool tile vs regular ceramic

Thank you! I located tile which claims to be "outdoor" tile - Will verify that it is frost-proof. I assume that the thinset needs to be pool specific (not just the type I would use on an indoor shower installation?)

    Pool tile vs regular ceramic

Hi All. I have to replace an area of tile around the top of my attached hot tub (above the water). Do I have to use special pool tile or can I use big box store ceramic/glass? This area would get wet (splashing/rain etc) but is not submerged. Any thoughts would be helpful. Not so much...

    Pool closing in Northeast

@Spitdog Are you completely removing the pump (like an intelliflo) and bringing it inside? Sounds like a good idea - and don't know why I have never done that! Anyone else remove theirs in the winter?

    leaking filter housing

I'm sure this isn't what you mean - but just in case - filters usually have a large, square topped drain plug toward the bottom (facing down to the ground). The O rings go on them and need to be replaced. Just a thought.

Intelliflo Making Loud noise - 1st startup of the season - please take a listen to it!

Update: It was the front (wet-end) bearing. Completely fell apart once I removed the motor and split the case. Took me a bit to figure out how to extract the outer race from the hub (ended up welding a bead around the inside of the race and it contracted enough to knock it out). Replaced the...

Intelliflo Making Loud noise - 1st startup of the season - please take a listen to it!

It seems to spin freely as far as I can tell. Is the only way to check on the bearings by pulling the motor and dissembling?

Advice Requested: Replace pump union suction side

Mine went on and off by hand (use two hands). Otherwise one of those rubber oil filter types works well

Advice Requested: Replace pump union suction side

I'd try replacing the o-ring that sits in between the male/female half of the union first.

Intelliflo Making Loud noise - 1st startup of the season - please take a listen to it!

All: I have a 3 year old intelliflo. I started it up for the first time since winter 3 days ago. It has a persistent "whine" - almost like the sound of a jet engine. Definitely much louder than last year. Pressure at the filter level seems fine (20/25) and the sound is the same no matter...

Raypak RP2100 unitherm governor plug blew out!

So I opened up the pool a couple of weeks ago. All seemed fine. Fired up the heater - no issues. Fired up the hot tub - no issues. Last weekend, had a bunch of people over. Hot tub was on for several hours at 98 degrees. Then was on 102 for another hour. When the heat was turned off, the...

    Attached Spa drain not working??

Ok - So I mucking around with it this morning, and it starts to suck in air on the pool intake side too. I decided it could be the jandy valve leaking. Turned the hose on and ran it over the valve - and the problem started going away. While I had the thing open, I decided to stick the drain...

    Attached Spa drain not working??

Thanks! I will give that a try. I assume that if the problem is a leak on the suction side, I might see the water exiting as well? Strange thing is - the spa has worked fine since I opened it in May. Just developed this problem this week for some reason. Since no-one has been digging; and...

    Attached Spa drain not working??

The valve is manual. I think it is sucking air. When I look in the strainer basket, There is a small stream of water coming in.

    Attached Spa drain not working??

Hi all. I have an attached spa that suddenly doesn't work! For some reason, when I switch my valves to the spa setting (spa in and spa out) I get an insufficient amount of water moving into the pump (and then I have to turn it off). When I move the setting back to draw water from the pool, it...

    Raypak RP2100 405A - Buttons don't work!

Help! Went away for a week and left my mom in charge - yikes! Came home to find the heater isn't working. I have power and the control panel starts up then goes to water temp 82 off. I get nothing when I push any of the buttons. I have tried re-setting it (holding the mode button in, then...
