Side Wall Skimmer With Dual Inlet Liner

Hey Frank, I did this with a 16x48 a week or so ago. I installed the Hayward skimmer to the right of the dual intakes....right if you are looking at them from outside the pool. I cut the intake closest to the skimmer and replaced it with the larger intex intake. I also cut the second...

I got the Intex Automatic Pool Cleaner

I have hooked it up to the return. The eyeball part of the return unscrews from the fitting and the cleaner came with an adapter that screws onto the fitting in place of the eyeball then the cleaner hose screws onto that.

    Solar pool covers

Have you guys found that a particular brand of cover is better than another or does it come down to the mil? I have a 16x48 intex. What brand/mil would you suggest?

Above or below seam.....what is the concenus

Pitguy, I'm so it of you. About an hour and a half or so. I'm out of town right now but I have some pics if you want me to post them. Woodstock unless you want to hard plumb the pool you can stay with the intex hoses as long as its an intex pump. If its a non intex pump the easiest thing to do...

Intex 1000 gph pump-GFI will not reset

I cut the gfci plug off mine a few days ago. Replaced with a simple three prong plug. The black intex cord has three colored coded wires, black-hot, white-neutral, and green-ground. I'm far from an electriction but it was super easy and works perfectly

    Last 2 questions....hopefully!

In the process of replacing our intex 16x48 with a new one. The new one has 2 intakes/suctions going to pump and 1 return. I have purchased Hayward skimmer and plan to use original return and convert one of the intakes to a return. Here's my question....If you are looking at the pool from the...

    Worried about saltwater

We are on our second intex pool. The first one went up June 2012 and was replaced due to rust. The way I look at it is my kids have gotten their money out of it during this time. Also its probably cheaper in the long run to just replace the pool than to spend $$ and especially my time on...

intex hard plumb - pump to 1.5" pvc

Cowboy, do the Hayward fittings fit in the intex holes or are they too small and you had to cut new holes for them?

Above or below seam.....what is the concenus

Whats the standard as far as installing a Hayward skimmer on an intex pool goes....above or below the gray seam? Anyone have pics of their above seam setup?

Taping/Sealing off joints of Intex Pool

Just wondering if anyone has taped or sealed off the horizontal, vertical, and footing joints of an intex pool to keep the salt water from getting in. I know the looks of it wouldn't be great but I thought about gorilla tape or something similar. Also saw a product today called "FiberFix"...

    Intex inlet leaks

I had to replace the step down or L shaped gasket on the plunger valve a few years ago in the middle of summer. I just got my wife to hold a bowl over the intake and I unscrewed and replace the gasket on the outside. Make sure you close the other valve before hand!! We only lost what water...

    In line Chlorinator

Switching from salt to pucks this year as our old Intex rusted out from the salt. Am I better to get a floater for the pucks or would an in line chlorinator work better? Does anyone have any pics of any inline chlorinators for pucks they use with an Intex?

    Heyward gasket for intex

We have a new 16x48 due to rust on the old one, but the old liner is still in good shape, so I am just going to store the new liner should something happen to the old one. Since the pool is down and drained right now, I guess I'm asking is it better to leave the gasket as one piece and just...

Anyone have this filter on an intex

Jeff, what parts did you use to make the extra port for the robot and footwash setup? I know about using the conduit parts to make a pvc connection but it appears you have just screwed the intex hose onto pvc threads without any modifications.

Anyone have this filter on an intex

Wondering if this filter will work with a 16x48 intex? Would I only need the hose adapters that can be found on amazon? http://www.walmart.com/ip/Pro-Above-Ground-Swimming-Pool-Pump-System-4500GPH-19-Sand-Filter-w-1.5HP/35093944

Intex 16' x 48" new pool, what equipment do you recommend?

I purchased the salt system along with our pool 3 years ago. A friend also purchased a pool around 2 weeks later. I had to purchase a new pool this year due to the legs rusting out, I'm guessing from the salt, but the friends pool is still in great shape. I won't be using the salt system with...

    Heyward gasket for intex

Before I go all fruit ninja on our pool just thought I'd ask if its better to cut the gasket in half or order a separate gasket all together for the other side of the liner but I wasn't sure if that would make it too thick. Suggestions?

My intex pool has 'died', what should I do next?

Academy Sports sells the 16x48. Just bought a new one this weekend. The only difference is this one has the dual intakes which im going to make in to returns instead. Was on sell for $349 instead of the regular $399

My intex pool has 'died', what should I do next?

We just had to purchase a new intex from rust. The salt system is great but the salt water and metal poles don't get along very well. I'm either going to go chlorine or seal up the joints with gorilla tape. I saw a picture somewhere just recently where someone had sealed the joints with some...

    Foam Board for intex

After 4 years of a 16x48 intex ultra frame, the swg and the metal poles have decided its best if they see other people. That being said we are purchasing a replacement later today and are considering placing foam insulation sheets underneath. My question is how many 4x8 boards would we need for...

Could this possibly be used as a heater for an Intex? I live in Alabama and by July/August we'll be trying to cool it down but if this would work at the beginning of the season to warm it up that would be great...

Water temp above ground vs in ground

No solar no heater. Standard in ground L shape pool. My thinking was the same as Diesel, hence why my labs won't stop digging in the corners of my house to lay in the cooler dirt.

Intex liner design. ....why do they do this?

Same problem here. Ours holds a ton of dirt. I get in the pool with a vacuum hose a a regular house vacuum brush attachment and vacuum it up. It's a headache though.

Standard Vacuum with Intex Ultra Frame (How To)

I have the same hose and vacuum head but all I do is unscrew the blue over the wall skimmer adapter and stick one end of the vacuum hose directly into the pool intake after I use the return to fill the hose up with water. I only have a 16x48 so I can easily get the entire surface without...

Intex sand filter pump suddenly very loud

Our pump did the same thing. Pump has a warranty. Intex replace old pump with a new one for me. Wouldn't hurt to ask.
