K-2006 test CH... Is this purple or Blue

Adding chemicals directly to the skimmer can cause issues with your piping and pump/filter. I always add in front of a return to allow for proper mixing and dilution prior to the chemicals entering the skimmer.

Let's see those pool this morning!

Divin Dave, In the last two places I've lived the city would allow you to pay for the installation of a separate meter for 'Outside' water use, and then not make you pay the sewering costs associated with that meter. It's a high up front cost, depending on how much plumbing needs to be...

Aarrrrgh! Opened pool late, now I got sand from the return line!

So, I opened my pool late this year. And I didn't have my test chemicals yet (I know, I should have waited until I had them in my hands...hindsight and all that). But I've always been able to make it a week or so after the first top up of water when opening the pool. Anyhoo....replaced the...

    Hayward Multiport Valve

So..I've replaced the pump and motor this year. Got me to thinking. Maybe I should just "tune up" the multiport valve a bit. It's getting hard to open and turn. I've never done this. I need a bit of guidance. 1. I have a Hayward Vari-flo SP-0714 multiport valve. These are the only things I see...

    Clarifiers and Flocculants...From Another Perspective

Thanks for good info. I love my test kit (TFT-100). I feel like a mad scientist making stuff change colors by just adding different drops! I also love the great advice and information I get on this forum! Sent from my Galaxy S4 using the free app: Tapatalk 4 Beta.

    Opening a brown pool.

I guess I should have been specific. I can tell if there us a pile of dirt in the bottom. Im quite certain I could see anyone in the pool. Im more concerned about the chemical levels, which I think should be okay. I do appreciate your comment and understand the concern over clarity. [Edit]...

How to connect Intex 1 1/2" hoses to Hayward DE Filter?

Perhaps the pics filesize is too big. I do know the forum has a limit on the file size of attachments. You can find free online image resizers. I use this website to make the files smaller. http://www.webresizer.com/ HOWEVER, I don't ever put a picture on there that I wouldn't want online. I...

Just joined and wanted to say hello

Welcome to the forum. I have an intex that I added a through the wall skimmer to last year. I run a 3/4 hp pump with a 100 lb sand filter. Keeps it circulated well. Much better than the stock pump and filter. Good luck with whatever you decide. Sent from my Galaxy S4 using the free app...

    FC, CC, TC New Math

I don't disagree....you do have to remember both numbers. It'd be nicer to just enter FC and CC....

    FC, CC, TC New Math

It calculates the FC for you. I don't know why, but I just enter my TC and the CC and in the adjustment section it shows the FC number and gives recommendations based on whichever "system" you choose. I choose to use TFP settings.

    Pool Calculator for Android?

I use the Android app. SimplePool Pro. It does indeed give suggestions for adding chlorine during the shocking process. You have to setup your pool first. And perhaps it only available in the Pro version. I set it up to use TFP guidelines.

How to troubleshoot Pump / motor?

I think my motor is DOA. I'm gonna try to get the broken long bolts out of the pump housing so I can get it separated and try to save the pump and just replace the motor. Anyone think I can save this motor? I don't know much, but it seems to be dead of neglect. Any thoughts on a decent...

How to troubleshoot Pump / motor?

Okay...photos to follow. I've got the intake and return fittings removed. The drain plug out. Some type of plastic C-clip and the basket is off too. Then the housing from the pump it's self. Now I'm stuck. I don't see any way to take off the impeller itself. No visible screws. Is it pressed...
