I'll try that thanks. I tested the pool a bit late this morning but it lost 6ppm and the sun was only up a few hours. Its a bit clearer so I've still got it at shock level.

Yea I'll see how it looks in the morning. This pump isn't powerful enough for a vacuum so I have to depend on its filtering lol that isn't very great. I don't mind waiting a few days just wondered what else to do.

I had met 2. fine there wasn't even 0.2ppm registering and 3 I thought I had though I might have tested it wrong. This test takes a lot of drops when shocking :S I've started shocking it again and I'll keep it going till I'm sure it meets all the criteria.

Ok so just to be clear if its still cloudy after shocking that means I didn't shock it enough? I know my pump is a inefficient piece of Crud so just making sure.

No it does not. Being a small pool it should be alright for now just needed to workout my cya.

Those 6 way kits weren't available locally so I ended up with a 4 way kit from home depot. Thanks for the help I'll see about getting some granules.

I would get a test kit with cya but just can't afford it atm. I'm sorry if I wasn't being clear about the test results. The water tested at 37 cya about a month ago. The new test at 13 cya was yesterday. I've had to drain water out a few times due to rain.

My cya is at 13 according to the test I did yesterday. It was 37 on the previous test. I'm aiming for 40 cya atm. How much of the granules should I add then to bring it up to 40? I had problems getting them to dissolve last time though which is why I asked about the liquid.

No it did not. I planned on going to a local store and getting it tested (ace hardware offers) to figure out my levels today.
