Joyce, back at it... I added 20 gal of bleach 6%...checked FC in 1 hour it was only 5.5...Added another 14 gal...waiting to see. I am baffled and the massive amounts required and the calculations don't seem to be working

Thanks for your understanding...I am finding that the pool people only know to sell chemicals and keep adding them. I will get the pH up along with the alkalinity...tomorrow is another day and I will go get more bleach, add 20 gallons and try again. (Sam's Club is going to think I am cooking...

One additional question to ponder. A local ordinance forced me to have to use a cartridge type filter when building this pool. I dont know the exact size but its a hayward and had 4 big (~30+ inch) filters inside. I have inquired on the cost to change to a sand filter now that the pool is...
