Pentair IC-40 IC40 Low Salt Readings

Update: The problem was a faulty flow and temperature switch. (part number 520736). I bought the part for about $75 online and replaced it in about a half hour. It was just a matter of removing the cover and unscrewing the faulty switch and screwing in the new switch. I connected the four...

Pentair IC-40 IC40 Low Salt Readings

My IC40 seems to be reading salt level at least 600 ppm low. The low salt light was red so it was not producing chlorine. I added salt to the pool because the reading I got was 2150. After 48 hours and 60 pounds of salt, I didn't get much of a change so I inspected the cell and it had a...

Pentair EasyTouch Aux Functions Not Working

Went outside when it was daylight and tried everything from the panel. Pump, Pool/Spa valves, jets, lights, etc. Everything worked. So I ended up just pressing the RESET button on the panel. Now everything works again from the remote.

Best method for adding Calcium Hardness increaser

The best method for adding calcium hardness is to bring a tanker over to my house and fill it up with water from my pool. I am draining it again because of high CH. I will be glad when it cures.

Pool stabilizer. Best way to increase CYA.

What is the best way to increase CYA? It is 55 and needs to be about 75. Other readings: FC=5.5 pH=7.8 Acid Demand=2 TA=80 CH=425 (tap water=100). salt=3300. I plan to let FC drop to 4 and then add stabilizer but not sure what stabilizer to use. pool calculator says I need to add a quart...

I was just curious if anyone has rigged a system to reduce the calcium in the pool water similar to a whole house water softener system.

    Outdoor Speaker Solutions

I built the house and pool at the same time and have whole house audio using OnQ Lyriq. They ran PVC before they poured the pool decking and ran wires to the pool spa. I used these speakers: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004SC ... 00_s00_i00 . Stay away from wireless speakers. They are...

Novice Needs Help - High Chlorine, high pH, high TA, high AD

Re: Novice Needs Help - High Chlorine, high pH, high TA, hig Turned on the SWG again (10% at 6 hours per day) and the FC is back up to 5. I think this is because it has been cloudy and rainy. A lot more water in the pool so salt has dropped to 2900 but so has the water temp. System says...

Novice Needs Help - High Chlorine, high pH, high TA, high AD

Re: Novice Needs Help - High Chlorine, high pH, high TA, hig I like the Taylor's acid demand system. And so far the results I have been getting (amount of MA) has been comparable to what the pool calculator recommends.

How do I slow fast rising pH

I have been struggling with keeping my pH from rising quickly. I can lower it with MA to 7.4 and then within a couple of days it is back to 8.0. I am told that new plaster pools have this issue. This morning around 7 am the pH was at 7.4 and this evening at 7 pm it was already back up to 7.8...

Novice Needs Help - High Chlorine, high pH, high TA, high AD

Re: Novice Needs Help - High Chlorine, high pH, high TA, hig I measured the pH this morning and it was at 7.4. (Normally, I measure at night after Chlorine has burned off.) That is what the pH should have been based on the amount of acid I added. So I still think I have been adding the right...

Novice Needs Help - High Chlorine, high pH, high TA, high AD

Re: Novice Needs Help - High Chlorine, high pH, high TA, hig I don't think reagents are bad as they are new and fairly consistent with readings from local pool store. I added 1.25 pints. This is what Taylor recommends. I can get the pH down but it always rises. (I have seen a number of...

How many times should the pump turn the pool in a 24 hours?

I have a Pentair VS 3050 with 4 speeds. My pool/spa is 12000 gallons. I am trying to figure out what to set my pump speed on and how long to run it. I am aware that all pools are different. What I want to know is if there are any benchmarks or standards that people have found as good...

Re: Novice Needs Help - High Chlorine, high pH, high TA, hig CH was 370. I posted the wrong number. Also, I think originally on 12/2 I did the CYA analysis wrong and did not know that the temp had to be at least 70 degrees. After tips on here, I think I got it right. I believe you are...

    Suction Pool Cleaner Recommendations

The pool is outdoors and totally enclosed with a screen enclosure and no trees nearby so there is no real debris except what might come from the plants in the planters around the pool.
