Can you install a Solar controller with an Aquatrol?

This morning I decided to open up the aquatrol to see what connections are inside. I think the easiest way to provide power to the solar controller from the aquatrol will be to use the terminals on the pump output receptacle. I will just use one of the electrical knock-outs on the bottom of the...

Can you install a Solar controller with an Aquatrol?

I have a goldline aquatrol and two solar panels. For the last two years I have been manually turning my valves to regulate the water flow to the solar panels. I am interested in purchasing a goldline solar controller but my question is if the aquatrol has lugs or terminals to provide power to...

Slow build-2 week wait for local AGP permit

We had to submit the building permit first, then pull the electrical permit, then finally we could pay the city to move the power and cable lines (our city owns all are utility's except gas). Once the lines were moved we were able to start the install. Luckily I could pull home owner permits for...

Electrical Question - Any electricians on the board?

I agree, conduit would be best, but give your electrical inspector a call. Most of the inspectors I have worked with are more than willing to explain their interpretation of the code. Just explain to them that you have reviewed article 680 and you would like clarification on what method is allowed.

Do I need to lower the water level, and how?

I also have a cartridge filter. I installed a threaded adapter in the drain plug then installed a pvc shut off valve and then a male 3/4 inch adapter. When the water gets to high from the rain I attach a garden hose to the 3/4 inch adapter and run it out away from the pool. Once I open the valve...

Any tips on drilling hole through sheet metal?

Get a hole saw for metal. Use a center punch for the pilot bit and drill slowly. You could also spray some lubricant to help with the cut. Pool walls are thin so It should not take you very long with a good drill. Just make sure you get the right size hole saw.

    A Better CYA Test Kit?

I usually go for a second opinion. I do the test then pour the sample back into the bottle and hand it over to my wife and she tries. Then we compare results. Most of the time we agree or are very close so I am happy with the results.

    Pump and filter location

I second the garage. I put all my equipment in the garage and ran rigid pvc out to the pool. I love not seeing or hearing the equipment, plus it keeps the equipment out of the element (no sun fading and rain).

Tips for installing an overlap liner?

Anyone got any tips for the cove and base? I will be putting up the pool in the morning (Saturday). I finished leveling the ground last night and have most of the plumbing and solar panels installed. I read some where about using a 2 liter pop bottle filled with waster to help roll the cove...

Pool looks great! I cant wait to get ours going. We originally bought a Sea Spray allure display pool in Feburary. Pump and Filter cover?

I put all of my equipment in my garage and ran rigid pvc pipe out to the pool. I like the equipment in the garage because is stays out of the rain and the sun. I have also seen people make small shed like structures to cover their equipment. keri1973 - I saw in your signature that you have an...

Tips for installing an overlap liner?

Sounds good. We switched models of pools so I will be putting it up this weekend. I will try stretching the liner over the frame and see how things go. I bought a used pool last year of Craigslist. I took it down so I know how to put it back together. We saved a lot of money by buying it used. We bought a new house and moved in January. I know we wanted to put up another pool so I looked around and got a great deal on a new pool in February...

Tips for installing an overlap liner?

So you stretch the liner over the assembled pool, should the liner just touch the bottom of the pool or be suspended? When do you start taking the pool a part and install the coping? When the water is up the wall a few inches and has set the liner in the bottom of the pool? Thanks for your help...

Tips for installing an overlap liner?

I pick up my new pool a 15' Sea spray allure tonight. I plan on installing it this weekend and I am just looking for tips on the overlap liner. Pool Cove Kit?

The foam cove is used in place of a sand cove. Some people use it because it is easier to get a uniform cove around the pool. The function of a cove is to keep the liner from being pushed under the pool wall. I personally use mason sand for the cove and for the floor of an above ground pool. You...

Advice needed: Hard plumb AGP - molded hosebarbs

I used a rubber band DWV repair coupling. I actually bought a 2 inch to 1.5 inch reducer and went above the barb and clamped right to the body of the skimmer then to the PVC pipe. I did 1.5 inch pipe so you maybe able to use a 2 inch coupling. I have done this for two seasons with no issues.

I cant say for sure. I did not need to reset it all summer. The timer and output percentages are all set mechanically so I wouldn't think power loss would be an issue.

    Solar Cover

    Landscaping fabric under pool?

I will be putting up a new 16 foot 52 inch above gound pool next month at our new house. I was pondering the idea of putting the black landscaping fabric down under the pool before we lay down the sand to keep weeds and grass from growing up through the liner. I would like to use the black...
