    Heater Wont Turn Off

I opened my pool this weekend and thanks to you guys the water was clear. After cleaning the water I turned on my gas heater (a used Pentair Minimax CH 150) and it fired right up. I let it run for several hours then using the on/off switch I turned it off and walked away. I came back later and...

    Unicel vs Filbur Brands

Need some opinions from the experts. My Jacuzzi cartridge filter takes a Unicel C9475 or Filbur FC 1480. They look the same to me, the Unicel is 49.99 and the Filbur is 89.99. Big difference. the guy at the pool store said the Filbur is much better. Is this true? If it matters I toss the...

    Installing Gas heater

This is a question for those of you with heaters. Is there any harm to constantly running water through the heater when it is off ? Will I extend the heaters life if I bypass it when its off? Will the constant water flow corrode the exchanger sooner? I know I should have a bypass just incase...

    90' Elbows

Is there a formula to figure out the resistance difference of a 90 degree street elbow vs a sweeping elbow? Its my thought that a sweeping elbow will have less resistance and have a better water flow. The only sweeping elbows my HD carries are the DWV and Im guessing that I should not be using...

I bought a used Minimax CH gas heater and the guy told me the inlet/outlet ports were switched. Meaning the inlet is now the outlet. He said there was a switch to change them back to normal. I have looked all over in the manual and inside the heater, I see nothing like that. Ive tried to...
