Pool School is saying at least 30 minutes after your last chemical addition to test water... To perform the overnight FC loss test: 1. If you have an SWG, tablet chlorinator, or other chlorine feeder, shut it off completely. 2. After the sun goes down, and at least 30 minutes after your last...

    Cloudy water wont uncloudy ..

Ah I see...Cut it off for a day or two, I don't think it will cause that much harm... Oh yeah, my dilemma currently in progress can be found in this thread oh-my-god-sink-and-sweep-cloudy-water-t43301.html ...Apparently my next step is to replace the sand in my filter and to buy a FAS-DPD kit...

    Cloudy water wont uncloudy ..

I would just look for "pool flocculant" because that is all "sink and sweep" is. Basically it clumps all of the tiny particles (which are making your pool cloudy) together and drags them to the floor. To be honest, you may not need to use floc. Are you running your filter 24/7? If you cut...

    Cloudy water wont uncloudy ..

Every case is different. Me personally, I was dumping in a bunch of bleach with the filter running 24/7 and the best I could do is milky blue. After weeks of not seeing my desired results, i bought and applied some flock (aquachem sink & sweep) and cut off my filter for 24 hours. I finally...

updated photos...ordered a taylor k-2005 from ebay, it's on it's way. Did the sink and sweep and vacuum process a good three times. My test strips had Hardness at 100, so I ordered some increaser. Dumped in 4 182 oz bottles of bleach yesterday just for fun. PH was 7.8 w/ my liquid test kit...

New pool owner; cloudy blue water

By applying sink and sweep to your pool and shutting off your filter for 18-24 hours, you will be able to see the bottom of your pool...flock is designed to clump all of the small particles together so they can drag to the bottom of the pool, hence the name sink and sweep...running your filter...

New pool owner; cloudy blue water

Try vacuuming to waste before you dump all sorts of chemicals...i'd recommend buying a flock like "Sink and Sweep" (you can find at Target). You remove the skimmer basket, pour about 8 oz down, set the filter to recirculate. After 10 minutes put the basket back and continue to let the pool...

Oh my god Sink and Sweep! Cloudy water

Yeah I think more of the problem is with vacuum and filtering than bbb...yesterday i opened up the pump basket and it was filled w/ twigs. The pool came with a basic haywood sand filter....I've been using a brush/vacuum head I found at walmart...I do have a weighted vacuum head coming in the...

Oh my god Sink and Sweep! Cloudy water

My water has been cloudy as fugg. I bought a foreclosure last May. I went to the pool store and they sold us about $300 worth of Baquacrap. Lets just say the pool was never where we wanted to be. This spring comes (round 2). I stumbled upon this forum and heard raves of the BBB method. I...
