    Closing Pool in Central Texas

First time pool owner. We put in a fiberglass pool this past summer so this is our first winter with it. I didn't plan on closing the pool as we only get a couple of freezing days during the winter. Tonight is our first night dropping below freezing. I checked my pump and it does NOT have an...

I did this test today and it did't change colors. Do I continue one to the next step in adding drops until it changes to blue?

Turn over and run time and time of day to run

I have been reading on this site and my manuel to my pump but I still confused. My specs are listed below. First I'm trying to find out what my turn over rate is. I see on my manual that Total Head is about 65 and my GPM is at 90. I'm not sure how to do the math on this. Also, does my...

    FC and pool run time

My FC has been holding at 13 for a week or so. The Pool Calculator says this will go down on it's own. I'd like to get it down to 7. I have SWG and I am wondering if it has to do with my pump run times. I have been running for 5 hours in the early am 12-5. Then during the day I run 30...

    Where should my focus be?

Can someone look at my test results and let me know what I should really be attacking first. I've been focusing on the TA but not sure if that's the right direction to go. Any input would be appreciated. My Goals Fiberglass with SWG (3000-3200 ppm 200-400 above recommended optimum level ) FC...

Water Line Tile Concern - Please help

Am I being too picky or should this be fixed. I don't like the way the water line tile is lining up vs the water level. If you look at the pictures there are areas of water touching the tile and other areas 2" off. The PB hasn't responded as of yet and the tile people are out there now. HELP!

SWG and rock salt decking finish

We are thinking of getting a salt rock finish to our decking. I am a bit worried that the splash out from our SWG pool will get into the divots and speed up possible corrosion problems. We plan on sealing it. Anyone have a salt rock finish with a SWG pool? If so, any issues.

    Decking Question

We are debating between slate stamped decking or a salt rock finish. The added cost is $5/sq ft. with 302 of decking and 15 sq ft of side walk tying into our patio. My husband feels the cost is too high. I personally think it's a far price. My husband is leaning to the salt rock finish but I...

    New Pool Owner, going SWG

Our pool is currently being installed. We went with a SWG system based on all the stuff I read. However, as the finish day approaches, I am nervous I will screw things up. I have no idea what type of pool tester kit will be provided....assuming a basic drop test. I have ordered salt test...

We started our pool build yesterday. We decided to go with Lonestar Fiberglass Pools out of New Braunfels/Kingsbury. The model we picked is called the Savannah in a Caribbean Blue.

    Decking

I have paid the first part of my pool cost and construction starts next week. We are putting cantilever coping with integral light wheat color for both the coping and the decking. This is to be brushed finished. Now I am thinking about just stamping, not two-toned color, just stamp. I...

    Pump and Filter Question

I would really appreciate some help on this as I really have no clue when it comes to this stuff and just want to make sure my PB is doing me right. I've been reading up on this board but let's just say as a female, this is really all foreign to me. We are putting in a fiberglass pool approx...

    Waterline Tile

Okay - don't laugh but I have a question about waterline tile on a fiberglass pool. I have some tile left over from our bathroom when we built our home a couple of years ago. It looks like a stone but it's porcelain. Can I use the same tile. It's from Daltile the Continential Slate series...

    Lonestar Fiberglass Pools

Anyone have a pool from Lonestar Fiberglass Pools? We are debating between them and Leisure pools. So far, the customer service has been much better by Lonestar. Also, the bids from both companies are about 10K apart. I have searched the internet for reviews and such about this company. I...
