    Any Sydney Siders?

Have you been to North Sydney Pools before? Although we're still in mid Winter here, I just need to have a swim, and would like to know your thoughts/experiences from this pool? What's the best time to go for a non crowded swim?

    Black/brown tinge on floor/walls?

Hopefully I'll get test results by the end of the week to post. Should I get CYA acid? Is it still safe to swim in the water despite the problems going on in the pool? Thanks guys for the replies. Much appreciated.

    Black/brown tinge on floor/walls?

Before you guys are in disgust, just be prepared... you may feel sorry for my pool by the pics :| The pool hasn't really been looked after for years, and just got worse and worse throughout. Anyway, as you can see in the pics, there's brown stains that I've noticed have been growing lately...

    Pump Leaking

I tried but it simply wouldn't budge. To be honest, I'm not too confident to start playing around with it either :? Maybe I'll get in the professionals.

Yup. I double checked to make sure and all is secure. Here's where the water continually flows out from: Thankyou for your time on this.

    Pump Leaking

I noticed this today as one of the pumps is leaking and quite alot of water is coming out when the filter is on. When I turn it off, I can hear a high suction noise which then goes. Hopefully it isn't too serious to fix :( Although a little hard to see, I took a picture while the filter was...

    Add superchlorine?

This is embarrassing and may sound ridiculous, but I found a dead mouse floating in my pool, and lets just say my OCD isn't coping well with it. My pool is salt water and is perfect in terms of chemical balance. What would you do in this predicament?

    Algae help

Hmm, I've noticed a very small crack in my back filter. :( Seems that'll be the culprit. I saw a filter net the other day which covers around my filter basket which smaller leaves have still been escaping the filter also. What are those (filter net) called?

    Algae help

Oops, had a little mix up there... It's all coming to me now :P Ok, my pool has changed dramatically. The algae is pretty much non-existent, and the colour is light blue, although still cloudy where you can't see the bottom at the deep end. Although I vacuumed to waste before, I've noticed...

    Coldest you've gone in?

Well, outside is still pretty muggy and hot, with the Sun getting lower so there's a mix. :P Some of you guys have gone is some extreme coldness, I'm shivering thinking about it :|

    Coldest you've gone in?

What's the coldest temperature you've gone in your pool? It's early Autumn here and although my pool is at 21C, diving in is pretty cold, yet refreshing :|

    Algae help

Few quick questions: I read the 'Shocking' tutorial, and was wondering if it's ok to use Isocyanuric Acid for shock instead of the other suggested CYA acids? Also, as I've been running the filter now for 24/7, sometimes it makes a suction noise as I notice the horizontal tube is half full of...

    What's your current pool temp?

You and your weird metric system... :P Currently 22 C (around 70 I think). It looks like it's gonna go down from here on out. Better make the most of it, otherwise, the wetsuit is coming out.

    Algae help

Re: Algaeee help I've got the results: (Doesn't look pretty) Free Chlorine: 0.5 pH: 7.8 Stabiliser: 0 I've been instructed to add Chlorine, Acid and Algaecide, and to return once water is clear for testing. It states when algae settles, vacuum to waste and pool must be full. Firstly, what...

    Thermometers?

Is there really a difference when it comes to choosing thermometers? I've searched a few topics and noticed many have got different readings, not being accurate etc. and was wondering what should I look out for? I used to have a floating thermometer ages ago, but I don't think it lasted or even...

    Algae help

I'm kinda new to looking after my pool, and have a few questions, and advice if possible. I have a salt water pool, got the water tested and all is good, except I've been having alot of algae problems that never seems to go away. It's pretty bad on the bottom and sides, with some black spots...
