    Gas connections

As a hvac service tech, in KY and IN all gas connectors must either be hard pipe or an AGA approved gas appliance connector. Thehard pipe is either blblack iron or copper, an AGA approved connector will have some means of protecting the connector hose. Examples of good connectors are corrugated...

    My new agp project

If I had to do this over I would have bought the 8ft sections of white vinyl fence from lowes along with the 5 x5 vinyl posts and caps. The fence came from the vendor missing pieces and my opinion is that it is of moderate quality. Other than the issues with the fence directly is the fact that...

Has anyone used an easy dome pool cover?

Compared to the life of a standard cover you probably will buy at least two regular covers plus air and water bags. So their statement is in the same ball park. I don't want to sound like I am praising the product, I am trying to find someone that has one and their opinion of it.

Has anyone used an easy dome pool cover?

No antifreeze, the bags are not filled to bursting. In ground covers have used water bags for years.

This cover looks really interesting, does anyone have any experience with it? http://easydomepoolcovers.com/ I am wondering if it is really worth the cost.

Advice/ideas needed for AGP modifications- crazy welcomed

Re: Advice/ideas needed for AGP modifications- crazy welcome I have been considering a combination stone built in grille, smoker, and wood fired boiler for the pool. The tube bundle would be removable for grilling, a damper plate to divert the smoke to the smoker box and the grille top will...

Can you install an oval doughboy on concrete?

The failure of the doughboy dealer had nothing to do with their pool business, they were a large hardware store as well, and the big box stores killed them. There is a rumor that the people that ran the pool department is in negotiations to open under their own names. I looked at an oval...

    heater wire hook up?

If it is millivolt it doesn't have a transformer. The power pyle (thermocouple like piece in the pilot) generates the power needed.

    Benefit of hard plumbing?

1 foot of couragated pipe equals about 120 ft of same nominal size hard pipe, a regular 1.5" 90 deg ell equals 7.4 ft of straight pipe. A 4ft couragated hose equals a heck of a lot of hard pipe.

    Newbie looking for experienced feedback.

As to your piping question the distances aren't that great it is the added elbows that will kill you. 30 ft from the pool vs. next to the pool is small just keep the elbows to a minimum. 4ft of corrugated hose is the equivilent of about 120ft of 1.5" pipe, so the gains from the elimination of of...

I am a service tech for a large mechanical contractor, the boiler is actually the way to go. If you do the calculations you will find the cost per btu is the cheapest with nat. Gas, then heat pump, then propane, and the most expensive is straight electric (ie elements similar to elect.water...

I am setting my pool up as a swg pool but I will be dosing bleach or pool store lquid chlorine untill the swg is purchased in early fall or next years opening. Right now I have about 3200ppm salt in, and the boric acid is on the way. Cya is at 50, fc 4.5, ph 7.3, ta 210, ch 210. My tap water is...

    question about adding boric acid

I am going to ad boric acid to my pool to improve the feel, my ph is 7.4, the ta is 250, and the ch is 250. Other than the ph being dropped to 7.4 from 8.1 due to about 8" of rain over the last 3 weeks, that is the readings from my tap water. After reading other posts I am now confused! In the...

I have to size an absorption chiller to cool a swimming pool

Re: I have to size an absorption chiller to cool a swimming The formulas that you need are in this site http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/ First you have to know the actual heat load the pool is absorbing, and the desired temp, and how fast you want to chill the water. I work in the hvacr...

That is munincipal tap water!!! The water in my area comes from deep wells off of limestone beds, I am lucky to have a low ph level from the tap of 8.1 right now,in the summer the ph regularly exceeds 9.0 and the desovled solids will precipitate out of suspension. If I fill a clean clear glass...

    How level is level ground?

I did the same thing, after removing about 80 yards of soil, I set the pavers useing a water level referenced off of the first paver. I then found that I was low in some areas of the circle and high in others, I lowered all of the high areas level to the pavers and just let the sand fill the low...

    PVC Ladder advice

Skate board grip tape, it comes in colors and prints. Check for a local skate shop or E-bay. Grainger or other industrial supply houses stock grip tape, also check flooring suppliers as black grip tape is sold for stair treads. The stuff I am thinking of looks like coarse sand paper. PS I wish...
