    Discovery Bay Pool Build

We've been stumped with landscaping and tried Shrubhub to provide recommendation....I was not impressed with their process, or final results. So we decided to start by planting some trees. Were zone 9b and planted 5 King Plams. They look beautiful in person, but I'm a little skeptical on how...

    Discovery Bay Pool Build

Added a few more items to the build. I decided to build an outdoor cabinet and install an outdoor refrigerator to keep folks from walking through the house to get drinks. Turned out pretty nice, next item will be to mount a TV above the cabinet to watch from the fire pit seating.

IntelliCenter - Equipment not responding to Schedules

This afternoon at work I noticed when I logged into the Intellicenter App that my pump had not turned on today. I have 6 unique schedules throughout the day and not one had triggered the pump to turn on. I check on the pool daily and this is the first time I've experienced this. Unfortunately...

    Intellicenter and Solar

To circle back to this. The above recommendations worked. I deleted everything solar in the intellicenter, shut power off to the equipment and panel, then switched the valve from B to A spot. Then assigned Valve A to solar and set my solar temps, and all is working now.

    Intellicenter and Solar

Thank you. If you read lower in the manual it mentions to use Valve B for solar if you have two bodies. I believe the verbiage in the online manual vs my paper manual had some discrepancies. I wasn't sure what determined the difference in # bodies. I will delete all of my solar info, power...

    Intellicenter and Solar

I need help with my newly "homeowner installed" pool solar automation. I have a three way intellivalve between my filter and heater for the solar. I plugged this valve into Valve B and assigned the valve to "Solar". What I thought I read in the manual is if you have two bodies to plug the...

Undersized Pool Solar...Is it worth it?

Thank you all, I think the info above provides enough guidance. I'll plan on installing 2 check valves; one between filter pump and filter, and one on solar return line. @1poolman1 The one between the filter and pump makes sense that is should eliminate flow through the cartridge filters and...

Undersized Pool Solar...Is it worth it?

Wow...a lot of great discussions and being an engineer, I appreciate all these items listed below. I was able to get two arrays up on the limited roof space I have this weekend. Happy with how clean it turned out, and think summer time will provide enough heat to keep my wife happy (in the...

Undersized Pool Solar...Is it worth it?

I will have a check valve from solar return to main piping, as well as manual jandy valves. However this will not restrict back flow when pump is off. My existing plan was per below

Undersized Pool Solar...Is it worth it?

I've seen that in multiple diagrams....I guess what I'm asking is can I omit this check valve, or put a check valves somewhere else (like between pump and filter), due to the fact that I do not have space for it....or do I have to rework all my piping?

Undersized Pool Solar...Is it worth it?

<<<<HELP NEEDED>>>> The panels arrived and I plan on starting the process of install.... however looking at the plumbing diagrams and need some guidance. The pool builder installed an Intellivalve 3 way right after my filter with a stub & a stub return for me to plumb for solar. There is no...

Undersized Pool Solar...Is it worth it?

Bringing this thread back up. So we are enjoying our first season with our pool. I've had a solar cover on our pool since late March, and am quite happy with the $200 investment. In May our pool was reaching 85F-88F, and now mid June its getting too hot...so I need to remove the cover more...

Pro's and Con's solar pool cover

I'm now a believer in the solar cover. Currently our pool is sitting at 86F around 4-5 PM, where my neighbors are all mid 70s. Its ugly and a hassle to pull off but nice to swim in warmer water, and cheaper than roof solar. It keeps the tree debris off the water, but generally ends up in the...
