    Re-Sizing an AGP??

The only other issue I can think might give you a problem is where you have to drill the new holes...it won't have the rolled end that gives it more strength so that the bolts don't tear through the single layer. You could try bending the end back on itself and adding a strip of steel or...

    Buying a Used Pool?

I bought my pool used as well and it wasn't a demo from the pool store either :) I had to take it apart and set the thing back up myself as well. If you're a handy person it's not that hard...just takes time. Most important part is to make sure the ground is flat and level. I had to buy a new...

    test strips

Hey I don't think the TF-100 kit is expensive :) I wish I could find a kit that only costs $70...In Canada the Taylor distributor controls the prices and the K2006 is at least $150  So the TF-100 is a GREAT deal! :goodjob: I bit the bullet and bought a K2006 because the strips I was...

    DIY solar cover reel?

Sorry to bring an old thread back to life...but I'm curious Axl, if you had any luck building a reel system? Do you have any pictures if you did build something? I'm trying to figure something out for my own pool. Thanks

Used pool begins its new life... (pic)

Thanks to all for the kind words. I have purchased a solar cover but I have to figure out a way to mount a reel system to make it easier to get the cover on and off. The white fencing makes this a bit of a challenge. I was actually going to post this as another topic elsewhere :)

Used pool begins its new life... (pic)

We bought this pool and the deck used and rebuilt the entire setup to create our "new to us" little piece of heaven. It's not much but our 3 kids love it and we enjoy sitting on the deck sipping a nice cool drink :) The only new parts are the liner and the gate door...oh ya and the new coat of...

    AGP Liner Material

I'm not an expert...but from what I understand is that an expandable liner just has some extra material in the bottom portion that allows it to go deeper into a dished out bottom. As far as I know they are made from the same material. I bought a normal liner and dished out the bottom of my pool...

Is there any way to make a shallow end in an above-ground?

Some of the public pools in our city use platforms for the small kids to stand on during swimming lessons. The frame is built from PVC piping and I think the floor is just a sheet of plywood or plexi glass. They aren't very big...maybe 4' x 4', and they just drop them into the pool for the kids...

    Pool Fence Pictures need ideas

For pool building regulations in Sudbury - Canada, I just went to the City website and found the bylaw regarding pools and fencing requirements. Chain link is ok to use in Sudbury but it has to be a certain size. Even the wood fence has to be built a certain way.

Place to buy test kits in Canada

Yeah I'm about 3.5 hours away from the nearest crossing, so at about 2 tanks of gas @ $100 per, it'll cost me more  I do have a brother that lives in Fort Erie so that idea might work

Place to buy test kits in Canada

I've been looking around trying to find a place to purchase the Taylor K2006 kit in Canada. None of the local pool stores carry a good kit like this one and they usually say something like "why would you want a kit like that". I finally found a couple of online places in Canada that sell them...

    Dishing out bottom of AG?

I did a search for this but didn't find the answer I was looking for. I'm installing an 18' AG with a standard overlap liner and was wondering: 1. Is it advisable to dig the center of the pool out to make it a bit deeper in the middle? 2. If so how deep would I be able to get away with? 3...

Hi from the Northcountry - Sudbury, Canada

Hello from the Nickel City in Northern Ontario. I found this great forum a while ago when I was looking into buying a new AG pool after owning a 18' portable pool for a year. Glad I found the "pool school" section because I lost the pool last year to algae because I didn't have a clue what I was...
