Trying to update our speakers BUT

I haven't personally tried apple.... but here's the link to the app. The nice part is any old or cheap receiver will work fine.... speakers are the place to spend some money. If you want higher definition you'll need optical inputs.

Google Chromecast audio is the perfect solution for outdoor audio. It cost 35$ and allows wifi control, tune-in app integration, and recently allows multicasting.(you can use multiple chromecast that will sync) Basically a Sonos for 35$. It's not the same as the chromecast for video and allows...

    New pool, Pensacola, FL

It's been a long winter... They finally finished off the lids for the cover vault in December. We were able to swim on Christmas day with help from the heat pump. In January we drained the pool to fix about a half dozen leaks around the tile line and around the main drain. In March they...

Where to install injectors and flow cell returns with Spa and Pool

I'm not familiar with the spa aspects, but I plumbed my flow cell return into my pool overflow/auto fill inlet. It avoids the pressure differential and no flow condition problems.

Auto Cover - Leave open or closed with Hurricane coming

Re: Auto Cover - Leave open or closed with Hiurricane coming I'm having one installed and the dealer told me that all the ones in the hurricane were ripped off the pool.... some even causing damage. He also said they never found them.

More progress. PB offered to do the stairs for free because of all the delays. Paver guy tried to make them out of only pavers and was only 5" off center of the door they were for. Instead of waiting for proper materials and workmanship we just told them no thanks. Tile was redone on the...

To save time I printed out a picture I had of the labels for the plumber....because it had been so long the ink/writing had disappeared from the pipes.

Still going very slow....pool builder promises lots of progress this week. Last week had the tracks reinstalled. Apparently the cover guys didn't even sweep off the concrete before screwing down the tracks. Friday they finished the coping. I'm still trying to talk the builder into putting a...

DFW Area new pool - Rectangular with Auto Cover - No Spa

I can relate to your pain. We're building with the autocover too. We've been staring at a large piece of concrete since June. Hope your finish goes quicker than ours.

Re-applied tile and raised beam another 1.5" so cover will fit under lid. Waterline will remain the same, but tiles are up so water will be 1.5" from bottom of tile....not sure how that's going to look. Cover tracks to be installed tomorrow. Here's the build so far in one frame a minute time...

Thanks for the links, but ours is from Coverpools. Cover guys showed up today.... of course I'm away from home for work. Best I can tell they don't have the correct specs on their install sheets for a recessed instillation(bar hidden under lid). Given the choice of demo'ing out and lowering...

Tile is finally done, of course they had special order the 'in stock' tile we picked out. Now waiting on the cover guy to tell them how much of the vault to demo out... don't know why they can't figure this stuff out ahead of time. They apparently haven't discovered email or pdf's yet. If...

Backfill is complete and tile is supposed to be tomorrow. Finally talked to someone with a clue about the vault cover. Options are for 18 or 24" lids. Instead of further delays and demo work, we decided to leave 12" of tile ledge exposed with 6" still covered for an 18" lid. I'm guessing if...

    New pool, Pensacola, FL

Thanks for the info, guess that's a good reason to keep the auto fill I almost didn't have installed. The builder was out today and still says the plan is to cover the whole ledge. I'm thinking of burying a small tank connected to the drains on the vault to catch splashed out water.... with a...

Thanks for the comments, I feel a little better. I didn't notice the super wide ledge until it was really too late... they put up the wires right before they shot it. I was thinking that the inside of the vault would be much bigger. They told me it needed to be 13" to force the cover to roll...

    New pool, Pensacola, FL

We thought about kids and the ledge, so we don't have one on the side with the deck, the other 2 sides are just walls... for now. The ledge also helps reinforce the exposed walls. The deep end is 6' deep... we went back and forth over 3.5-4 for the shallow, but we have 2 small ones that will...

    New pool, Pensacola, FL

I believe the only option he gave us was concrete coping with the cover... which I don't mind if that works the best. He's going to cover the exterior walls with the same material that covers the coping. The vault should be covered with the same material if I understood him correctly.

Yep, he didn't go into much detail on the house...that's ok. We're planning on doing the steps ourselves since they came in around 5K. We researched the fence and actually called the county to be sure. As long as the autocover is certified (which it is) we're ok.

Thanks to all the knowledge I've gained in these forums we've finally signed a contract. We're still a month away from digging so we're open to suggestions and input. Back yard before picture, the white poles are where the pool corners will be....we were somewhat limited due to 50' setback...
