    Solar Heat for Spa

Ive had ours to 110 and could have got higher but it was way too hot to use. Public spas cant ben over 105* I believe so thats as hot as you will need it ever. With the cover on it will hold the temp for a few hours. It might drop a couple degrees but not much. Once you take the cover off and...

I Have a leak, I need help finding it.

Sorry didn't update. No the valve was not the culprit..my pool doesn't have one, at least from what I can tell. I did dye testing and never found the leak so hired a leak detection company to come find it. It was in the conduit for the wiring for the pool light. It was cracked around the edges...

I Have a leak, I need help finding it.

Pool was built in 2007 I believe..and I am not sure if it has a hydrostatic valve or not. I need to dive down and see if I can figure out if it does or not. Sounds like I may have to hire someone to come in and do it unfortunately :(

I Have a leak, I need help finding it.

How would I go about finding this hydrostat..is it something I can see or do I have to remove part of the drain? Also can it be replaced with the water still in the pool? Thanks

Thanks guys Im not sure how well I did the dye test so I will do it again to see what happens. Last resort is to hire a leak detection company so I hope I can figure it out and save myself some $$$ without having to go that route.

I Have a leak, I need help finding it.

Hey guys, Well about 3 months ago our pool started to drop in water over the week. I figured it was just due to evaporation since we were getting into the warm months here in FL, and we have only been in the house since november. Well I have found that we are now loosing about 2" of water PER...

Ya that is the only thing I don't like about it. I will have to make due for now, as I can't wait to get my pool taken care of on a test kit. I just checked and it was showing 10+ppm plus I added another gallon of chlorine after that, scrubed down my walls, and will run the pump all night. I...

Awesome thank you. Here are my results as of this moment and I found something else I wasn't aware of as of lately. (ALK is really high) Last time I tested ALK was about month ago and it was ok. (didn't think this was important as far as my issue, but maybe it is) FC: 5ppm TC: 6ppm PH: 7.6...

What is this jet/fountain for? Are their attachments?

Ya I can turn the valve all the way open and close the other return lines it gets as high as it is in that photo, and if I open the other lines too, then it only breaks the surface by a few inches. I was hoping some kind of cool water feature hooked up to that but sounds like it is a bubbler...

What is this jet/fountain for? Are their attachments?

Hello I was wondering if anyone knew of something that screws on to this or some type of attachment that creates a fountain or an actual water feature, or if not, then what it can be used for? The jet itself is pretty much the same as all the return jets in the pool it just is in a weird...

HA! Now why did I not think of that! Making the necessary changes now will so simple and no need to plug holes in the roof, drill more holes across the top of the roof etc.. Thanks for your suggestion! Hopefully I get a chance in the next week to get up on the roof and fix everything. :lovetfp:

Finished my new solar install for pool and Spa

Ok, I will just use white PVC and paint it for the new plumbing then I guess. Easiest would be finding black PVC, but since I haven't seen black PVC anywhere I am not sure where to get it. Any suggestions? Here is how we will plumb it. Split the supply line and run one line to bottom corner of...

Finished my new solar install for pool and Spa

where can I get black PVC? The ABS I got because it is the only black pipe I could find and it's pressure rated plenty high enough for the amount of pressure running through it, so instead of running white PVC I went ahead and bought the black ABS. My dad has Black ABS in his system too which...

Finished my new solar install for pool and Spa

Ok, I understand now what we did wrong after doing some drawings. This first picture is how it is now (Red is incomming line from filter, blue is return line to pool): This picture is how it SHOULD be if we ran all incomming water from the BOTTOM however I am not going to do it this way...

Finished my new solar install for pool and Spa

Answers to questions in bold. I thought the way we did it was fine being water comes in the bottom left panel then forced to the top of those panels and out the top right, then into the top left being forced down through the panels to the bottom right. I guess I'm not seeing where the issue...

    Solar Heat for Spa

Thanks for the info. I do agree that time of year is going to play a big part. Average temps here during our entire winter is around 73-75*F during the day. We also have sunshine like 95% of our days during winter months so I wonder how warm it will be able to keep it during that time. I have...

I thought I would start a new topic, since my last topic on low waterflow and air in my pump basket that I started is no longer relevant as the issue was solved by removing the filter.. Anyways, to expand on what we found out in the previous topic..I have a cartridge filter for my pool...

Pool Pump has low flow/suction and basket has Air Pocket

Thanks guys. I cleaned it again and PSI went down to 8. After an hour or so, it was back up near 20, so I cleaned it again and same result. Looks like while I fight to get this pool cleared up I will have to keep cleaning it, and hopefully after it is cleared up things work as they should. Is...

Pool Pump has low flow/suction and basket has Air Pocket

OK I just got home and noticed water flowing over the spa was hardly anything again. Went out and checked the pressure at the filter and it was back up to 20 psi There is no way it can be clogged up and dirty from only a few hours of use. Right? What the heck is going on here? I took the filter...
