SLAM completed. 3 full days, 4 nights. 28 ppm LC / CYA was at 70. Passed all three completion criteria on Wednesday. I had to keep telling myself to be patient and stick to the process and it paid off. 😎

Thanks for the speedy reply. Do they ever go away, are they perhaps seasonal? I’m in Georgia and it is most always humid here. I’ll do the research now that you’ve identified the little pests for me.

we thought these were grass seeds. Our pool is in a pasture setting. Upon closer inspection they appear to be insects, full grown and smaller. Can anyone identify a solution. Constant skimming hasn’t really helped. 😢 grass I could swim with but these things are creeping me out now.

Hello all! main drain valve handle broken, can this be replaced or is it just too much of hassle? Someone told me the pool might need to be drained to replace it? We were using a pipe wrench to turn it on and off. Currently we’ve just left it on. Our pool is not winterized.

I have another question. I have bags of salt taking up deck space and exposed to the elements. Is it okay to start putting it in once we get everything ready and turn on the pump, even though we won’t be using the SWG and the water is most likely very cold, brrrr.

Good points! Especially protecting the equipment which is very exposed. Not close to the house at all.

8/24/21 - Update - after the leak developed we threw in the towel and decided a complete drain with new liner would be the best choice for our circumstance. It made us both feel better too! A semi fresh start! Lead time is about 5 weeks so I’m excited about posting again once the process starts...
