    Blown out filter?

Thanks Richard. I'm going to do the larger one. Should be a simple install with the two threaded unions!

    Blown out filter?

Just came out to find my filter enclosure cracked and spewing water everywhere. Right now I have a Pentair FNS 48 and I was thinking about replacing it with a FNS 60 (which is just larger capacity). All the inlet and outlet locations are in the same place, so it should be an easy swap out. Is...

Help deciding on Easytouch vs. Intellitouch replacement?

Thanks. I think your right.. Just going to replace the board and see what happens. I only hope that it is just the board and that the pump controls or the salt cell interface aren't also damaged. I'm going to ask the pool lady to cover some of it.. Really ****** me off. -jr

Help deciding on Easytouch vs. Intellitouch replacement?

Hello, The pool lady left our easy touch enclosure opened prior to it raining and the inside got all wet and blew out the board. The board is turning on relays and valves, but the communication with the pump and the inside panel is not working. So I think the rs485/serial port was damaged. I...

    replacing lights? how difficult?

Thanks Jason. So, basically it should be simple. I pulled out the lights (not cable) while in the pool today and none of them seem like they are sealed where the cable exits the niche. There is some "green goop" on the ground connection in the niche, but I think that is some anticorrosion...

    replacing lights? how difficult?

Hello, I'd like to replace my lights with some of the pentair 5gs. I have two pool lights and a spa light. What exactly is involved with it? I assume just unscrewing the old one from the niche and pulling through the new cable? Do you need to seal up the conduit in the back of the niche...

    Help troubleshooting Mastertemp 400.

Replaced the thermostat and all is well. Brought the spa up to temperature just fine without any faults. Just putting this here to other searching can know the result. The part was about $40 online. Use a big screwdriver to unscrew the cap and replace. I was able to confirm it was the issue by...

    Help troubleshooting Mastertemp 400.

Seems like it might be the regulator/thermostat. Took out the regulator and am running it without regulator (this should just make it very inefficient AFAIK, but still work properly) and it appears to be running just fine. Here are some pictures of the regulator. There is some slight rust...

    Help troubleshooting Mastertemp 400.

Hello, Went to go use SPA last night and found it wasn't getting hot. Turned off heater and then back on and it fired up for a few minutes and then turned back off. Service Light was on. Initial error was HLS (High Limit Switch). I temporarily bypassed that switch to see if it was the issue...

Do I need intellitouch to achieve this?

Craig, Yes, it is strange. The SPA sits at one of of the pool and it spills over into "spillway" which is about 15' and then that leads into the main pool. So, I'm thinking they plumbed it this way due to the layout of the pool itself. You can see the pool via this screen shot from google maps...

Do I need intellitouch to achieve this?

Thanks Jason for your continued help. I do have one set (two drains) in both the pool and the spa. I agree the way you describe is that way that it should be done. So, is it not possible (or permissible by code) to draw both the jet pump and the main pump from the same set of drains? The other...

Do I need intellitouch to achieve this?

Spoke with Pentair and they told me that it can be done with one sensor, but you need that sensor to be on the return line for both the spa and the pool. In spa mode its used for spa heater and in pool mode it can be used for pool heater.. So, its possible but will require some plumbing...

Do I need intellitouch to achieve this?

Jason... Thanks. I think the i10 3D system will support it since it supports two bodies of water which is really what I have with the two pumps.. Interestingly I only have one filter and its on the main pool pump. The output of the spa pump goes right into heater which I've been told is also...

Do I need intellitouch to achieve this?

Have a pool/spa combo. The spa has 6 jets in it, 2 of the jets are connected to the main pool pump and are basically just to cause spill over into the main pool. The other jets are connect to another pump which also runs through a Mastertemp400 heater. Only the jets in the spa are plumbed into...

Easytouch programming for pool/spa combo with one valve.

Seems that I really should have the "Jet" pump hooked up to the relay outlet which is labeled Spa, rather then one of the Aux relays? Need to play with that tomorrow. -jr

Easytouch programming for pool/spa combo with one valve.

Jason, I guess I don't understand the interaction with "Spa" Mode and the different circuits. Can Spa Mode activate different circuits of valves?

Easytouch programming for pool/spa combo with one valve.

Thanks. I know. It is odd the way it is configured. In the spa has 6 jets connected through the heater and on the spa pump. The input to the spa pump are the two drains in the spa. There is one jet on the wall (across from spillway) and one more on the floor of the spa which are connected to...

Easytouch programming for pool/spa combo with one valve.

Have combo Pool/Spa. Easytouch 8. don't know how previous owner had it programed, but I'm trying to figure out the best way. Have a Inteliflo variable speed pump. This takes up "Pump" and Aux 1, 2, 3 for 4 different speeds. I normally just run it on the Filter Pump setting. The filter pump...

    120V lights?

The pool was built in 2008. I should be able to just pull out the fixed with the one screw at top of fixture and then take it out of pool? crack it open, replace it with the new bulb, replace gasket and then put it back together and back in the pool. Right? Doesn't seem all that complicated. -jr

    autofill problems?

Thanks Jason. I don't think the overflow was ever hooked up to anything. What about the port to the right of the "What is this?" label? That is just a hole back into the sand as well. I agree likely not going to be above this level, but it obviously has been above this level to get all that...

    120V lights?

My pool has 120V lights. What are my options for getting some color changing options? It has two lights. They are correctly on a GFI. Is it just a bulb you can replace in the units? Is it an option to convert these to 12V w/ transformer? Is the "niche" universal for the most part? Also -- I...

    autofill problems?

Here is a picture with some notes on it. Basically, shouldn't the white piece pit down in the black piece? Basically should sit lower in the deck? Almost like the lower black bowl was installed too low. The white "grate" - what is that for? The black hole to the right of the grate seems to be...
