    OmniLogic firmware upgrade to V5

Yesterday I received notification in the Hayward app that there was a firmware upgrade to v5. I don’t see any release notes on hayward’s site. Anyone know what’s new in this release?

    Hayward Sense & Dispense install

Quick Update. I received alerts from the OmniLogic App stating no water flow was detected. After inspecting the equipment the pump and flow was good. Looks like the Water Flow sensor required to run the sense and dispense was intermittently failing. So when the Sense and Dispense detects No Flow...

    Hayward Sense & Dispense install

Hi! I usually have to refill the Acid container with 3:1 Ratio of water to Acid Every 4-6 months or so.

    Hayward Sense & Dispense install

@Davispeden below are my chlorine readings from last summer. I need to do the same for this summer which i'll try to do over the next few days. This is what you can expect assuming your CYA is 20-30ppm. My Chlorine usage peaked in July then started to decrease in August. Which makes sense since...

    Hayward Sense & Dispense install

For me its not a chlorine feeder vs SWG argument but more of is an ORP measurement consistent enough to determine how much chlorine to dispense OR generate using an SWG? For me, at least, ORP has been a very stable measurement and keeps my chlorine within 1ppm(sometime alittle more). For others...

    Hayward Sense & Dispense install

That’s great to hear! I know others have had challenges using similar systems with a SWG. What is your Cyanuric Acid level at? This seems to be the biggest issue issuing SWGs.

    Hayward Sense & Dispense install

Yes, the PH and ORP probes look different. Don’t forget to clean them every 30-60 days. That’s very important for maintaining consistency with readings and longevity.

    Hayward Sense & Dispense install

Hi there. I did look in to CO2 but because it was more inconvenient and cumbersome exchanging tanks and the amount of CO2 needed I decided not to. The biggest drawback to acid is the risk of injury which is minimized by using the sense and dispense system since it helps to reduce the amount of...

    Hayward Sense & Dispense install

Thanks! You are correct. My setup is Alittle different than the manual describes. The system comes with wiring pigtails that wire directly to the relay and allow for the dispenser pump to plug in to. Instead I decided to install outdoor GFCI outlets in weather proof boxes with plastic conduit...

    Hayward Sense & Dispense install

ORP was not designed to match a specific chlorine reading and instead is used to measure the potential of chlorine to oxidize water. So in theory you could have free chlorine levels of two difference pools be the same PPM level but one pool may have a higher ORP measurement because of other...

Hayward Prologic - can I automate the SWG with an ORP probe?

I believe the prologic you have can support the Hayward Sense & Dispense system. I believe there are soecific SWGs that are compatible as well. This is what I use and is similar to that Intellichem system referenced in previous posts Here is a link to the manual. There is a section that talks...

Hayward Prologic - can I automate the SWG with an ORP probe?

When using liquid Chlorine you can minimize the amount of Cyanuric Acid so that the ORP probe is more effective.

Hayward Prologic - can I automate the SWG with an ORP probe?

Short answer is in theory, yes. You can use a Hayward Sense & Dispense system, however, because the recommendation by many(especially on this forum) is to maintain Cyanuric Acid at high levels the ORP probe may not work the way it was designed and may provide inconsistent results. There are a...

    Automated Testing

I’ve been using a Hayward sense and dispense system to measure and automate chemical distribution for both PH and Chlorine with little to no issues for 16 months now. Technically not automated testing but more digital, I’ve also been using an Industrial Test Systems eXact iDip Photometer to...

    Omnilogic Firmware 4.3

The past 3 or 4 releases the RNs have been posted with a week or so. You can get them alittle earlier(by a day or two) by hacking the URL..ie changing the “0” to “2” in the PDF file name. I just tried and was unsuccessful. I usually try daily until they pop up.

    Hayward Sense & Dispense install

Happy New Year everyone. This will be my final post regarding the sense and dispense install and chlorine consumption for 2021. Overall, the system has been solid and has worked without issue. I have been able to maintain my chlorine within an acceptable level consistently for a year now. I...

OmniLogic Daylight savings auto Config issues

I'm starting to think that maybe the change takes some time. Of Course I checked mine early in the morning (Around 7am) on the fall back day so possible that if I just left it alone it would have been fine. I'm used to very quick time change like on laptops/Phones. Maybe I just need to hurry up...

OmniLogic Daylight savings auto Config issues

FYI, I spoke with my PB About the DST issue. They acknowledged that the Time does not change immediately(2am or so) but they have seen the change later that day around 3-4pm. They recommend keeping the DST option enabled and wait up to 24hours for the time to actually change. I know I have not...

    Omnilogic Firmware 4.3

Funny, didn’t see thisthread and created another about it. Mods, feel free to delete if needed. @PoolBrews You mention the DST corrected itself. How were you able to come to this conclusion? Did you re-enable DST option in time Settings?

    Omnilogic Firmware 4.3

Omnilogic Firmware 4.3.0 is now available for OTA download and install for the Omnilogic. So far no release Notes published on Hayward’s sight. I’m sure they will be posted within the next few days which seems to be the normal process. I updated this morning without issue. Would expect since the...

FYI.. Just received an alert from my OmniLogic that an update is available. What are the chances it will address DST? I say slim to none..;)

OmniLogic Daylight savings auto Config issues

Thanks for confirming. Good to know I'm not the only one. Its not clear from the documentation if its intended to change automatically. My guess is if I asked Hayward they would say it's working as designed. However, It does seem to be a basic capability that should be included.

OmniLogic Daylight savings auto Config issues

FYI. Originally back in the spring I did not have DST enabled. When the time moved ahead it did not auto change. I then turned on DST which was recommended by my pool builder. A few weeks back when time moved back It. did not change again. BAsically I’ve tried it both ways.

OmniLogic Daylight savings auto Config issues

Hello, I have a Hayward OmniLogic that will not auto adjust time when Daylight Savings activates in March and expires in November. In each instance I’ve had to manually toggle the “Daylight Saving Time”on to enable daylight savings March , then Off in November to get the right time to display...
