    Intermittent Filter Cycles Save Energy?

i have been doing this with pools i service, setting up 2 4 hour run cycles at different times of the day instead of running the pool 12 hours a day. like someone said, depends on the debris load, i don't do this on all pools. furthermore they are in the 25k to 40k gallon range, so 3 hours won't...

Plaster Question for a New Pool Owner

it is recommended to brush a white plaster pool to remove the "fat" the excess calcium that comes out of the marbledust. when i worked for a pool builder in the hamptons, we would meticulously vacuum the ENTIRE SURFACE of the pool with a vinyl vacuum head as opposed to a head with wheels, to...

    Solar Panel confusion

this is what i know about it in chilly new york. the solar panels work great when it is warm and sunny out, but they will literally cool the pool water in the evening. if the outside temperature drops, the solar panels don't really keep up with the heat loss. furthermore, sometimes the cost of...

long term costs: clorox; tablets; or salt

long term costs: clorox; tablets; or salt

in all the pools we maintain, 80% are swg.years ago when swg's first started gaining popularity, the ph was hard to control when we kept the TA at a normal level. The key is to keep the TA around 70. keeping acid around is a non issue.

Pool Pilot installed!! Now have setup questions

running the swg at night is merely preference. running all of your EQUIPMENT at night may have cost savings. It depends on your electric utility. Most offer "time of use" (TOU) rates for commercial/industrial customers, but some also offer it to residential customers. To avoid reducing load...

long term costs: clorox; tablets; or salt

can you post more information about your pool, such as the chemistry of your tap water, filter system, size of pool, etc... to go from manually adding chlorine every day to something like haywards sense and dispense (which i like) is quite a jump. do you have anything right now, a chlorine...
