Intex 1000 GPH upgrade to 2500 GPH, what to do with old pump

Re: Intex 1000 GPH upgrade to 2500 GPH, what to do with old As promised here is a pic of my cheap PVC fountain attached to my 2500 GPH pump. It works great, the kids love it. I'm not happy with the design and am going to make some mods to it and start a different thread on it's...

Intex 1000 GPH upgrade to 2500 GPH, what to do with old pump

Re: Intex 1000 GPH upgrade to 2500 GPH, what to do with old Sounds crazy, I know. This is all 5/8" I've bought over the years. I didn't just run out and purchase it for this project, a good solar heater would have been a better choice. I'm working with what I have on hand and simply using...

    Good thing I was home.

I'm hard plumbing in the next few weeks. I just recently upgraded my pump and cut the liner for the larger connections and I still had a plunger fall off. Thankfully it did it while I was doing maintenance and was able to correct it before losing too many gallons. I hate those plungers and...

    Cutting larger holes in liner

I just recently upgrade my pump and ran into similar problems. What I did was take the gasket off the new larger intake/outlet and used a Sharpie to trace the circle of the inside of the gasket. I cut along the inside of the sharpie line and I noticed little (very tiny) drips after I...

    Full time pumping - Intex

I concur, even with the smaller pumps like in the pictures, it always sucked air in. Run the pump for a minute or two, turn it off, wait about a minute or two and then bleed it. Maybe wait a few minutes longer if you are using a heavy duty filter, give the air time to bubble to the top of the...

Intex 1000 GPH upgrade to 2500 GPH, what to do with old pump

Re: Intex 1000 GPH upgrade to 2500 GPH, what to do with old We hit 100 degrees again here today and my little pump really didn't drop the water temp with the makeshift fountain, but it did keep it from climbing too high, water hit 93 at the high mark today (it would have been much higher...

    Legs in the air

I assume you mean something like a tie down ratchet used for cargo. Where does one get 50+ feet of that? That would be perfect as it is much stronger than rope! Just wonder what it costs?

Intex 1000 GPH upgrade to 2500 GPH, what to do with old pump

Re: Intex 1000 GPH upgrade to 2500 GPH, what to do with old Nope, with the one end in the water and the other end higher than the water, the water in the hose has no where to go. Now if the exit end of the hose falls off the pool then it will start draining the pool regardless if the pump is...

    Draining issues HELP!!!

I use a small sump pump I bought from True Value that sucks water out down to about 1/8". It pulls from the bottom of the pump and you just attach a garden hose to it. Was around $40. I use it at the end of the season to get that last bit of water out.

Intex 1000 GPH upgrade to 2500 GPH, what to do with old pump

Re: Intex 1000 GPH upgrade to 2500 GPH, what to do with old Just plain garden hose, black heavy duty, over the side of the pool. As for priming the pump I take the intake hose and push it up against the output of the main pool pump, once some water is in the hose and over the side of the pool...

Intex 1000 GPH upgrade to 2500 GPH, what to do with old pump

Re: Intex 1000 GPH upgrade to 2500 GPH, what to do with old Also tonight I made the plunge and actually cut into my pool liner to add the fittings for the 2500 GPH pump. I was using the adapters sold online but I knew they were reducing throughput. That first cut with the box knife is the...

Intex 1000 GPH upgrade to 2500 GPH, what to do with old pump

I recently upgraded my Intex model 637 model pump for the higher 2500 GPH pump and was wondering what to do with the old pump. The smaller pump had degraded down to less than 600 GPH and my SWG didn't like it. I have the new 2500 GPH and was wondering what to do with the smaller pump. I had...

    Legs in the air

Your slab is no longer level, or your liner has weakened and stretched. My AG Intex 15' isn't level and I see a little white but my legs don't lift like that. That can't be safe at all. Also, check the rope for damage or stretching. I had to replace my rope after one season, it frayed pretty...
