Well, no one answered this for me so... I got just over 3 years on them. And, they are now cheaper at Amazon from Pool Supply Warehouse.

I could have replaced it last year but just ran the salt high. The SWG would say 2900 but the pool was really at 4000. We have had a ton of rain and I figure I should just fix it right.

I just ordered mine from them today. My 6 year old cell says there is 2200 ppm salt in the pool and my taylor drop test kit says 3500 ppm. No more generation... :cry:

Re: Accurate pH test during shock levels with R-007? I keep it calibrated so yes I trust it, I'm just not sure about it during the shock treatment.

Will a digital pH meter read accurately at high chlorine levels?

I always ask myself what someones agenda is when the want to sell me something, especially on a regular basis. Make sure you have a good test kit and follow the advice of the folks here!

That pump IS on Gulf Powers list which make that pump VERY inexpensive to buy. It would be nice to see some reviews though. Sometimes, you get what you pay for...

That was an interesting read. I'll take that into consideration. The rebate is $300 and I think the elec is $0.15 a Kwh I'm still looking for the differences in the 2 pumps.

Neither of those are in the list from Gulf Power. With the programmable pump, it there really "too much HP"

I looking to replace my ol WF-24 with one of these new fanged contraptions. Trouble is, I cant tell the difference between the 11017 vs 11018. Both qualify for Florida's Gulf Power rebate, both do not require a separate controller. Amazon has the 011017 for $1046and the 011018 for $898.

I go through about a gal of acid every two weeks. It will hit 8 and we drop it to 7.2. That lasts 3-5 days. Do you think if I just lower to 7.8 I will use less acid in the long run?

I had a large out break of Black Algae myself. I scrubbed each head off individually with a pumic stone, brought the CL up to 20 and brushed with a stainless steel brush everyday for about 5 days. Black algae is now gone!
