I get bleach at the Walmart or Harris Teeter (Kroger) when it's on sale. I get muriatic acid at the local hardware because the stuff they sell at Lowes is low odor which is garbage. Odds and ends from Amazon.

Trying to run my chlorine low (between 2 and 3) this summer and use a weekly maintenance dose of polyquat 60 to keep algae at bay and keep the staining monster away. Also trying to keep ph around 7.2 Is this a bad idea? Will this give me proper sanitation? CYA is around 45.

I saw on another thread where they had added a small amount of de powder to a sand filter for cloudy water. Would this help to remove some of the metal as well?
