    Taking Down 12x24 Ultra XTR

Our house is under contract and the buyers don’t want the pool. So we will be disassembling and reinstalling the pool at our new house. Anyone who has taken down and reinstalled their pool have advice? I put the pool up originally so I understand that part.

Paver and base questions - rock dust/fine mortar?

You could use paver base / rock dust to fine tune the pavers. It has the fine material in it which is like sand but compactable as it is angular. Sand cannot compact but base for patios will. You can get a bag from most home centers.

Stone dust as leveling material on clay

I purchased mine from Menards. I see Paver Base by Pavestone available at my Home Depot. They call it Step 1 because it goes down first on compacted soil. If you use it to raise your low spots, I I wouldn’t go thicker than 3” after it’s compacted as the compactor may not compact it fully. But...

Stone dust as leveling material on clay

Stone dust or base rock with fine material can be compacted as it is angular. Pea gravel cannot be compacted and could wash out easily. Think of compacting a bowl of ball bearings, it cannot be done. I would use stone dust/ base and compact it with a hand tamper or a vibratory plate compactor...

    Mud Daubers,Bees and Hornets

Is there something That will deter honeybees from the area? Their number seem to be increasing by the day. I’d say we could have 8-10 at a time somewhere around the pool. I’ve read somewhere that they’re attracted to the smell of the pool. I don’t know if it matters but, I’ve got a saltwater...

What Freight Co does Intex ship with?

Yes. I couldn’t get Intex to respond to emails and the phone was too busy. So I pasted the PRO (tracking) number into several freight companies tracking field until one produced results. My pool was shipped R+L.

leaking joint at Intex SWG and return hose

I just assembled mine and there was a black “ L shaped O Ring” that I had to insert into that location. I believe it was loose inside the box but had some tape stuck to it. So maybe it was taped to the pump somewhere when it was packaged. If you look at the manuals posted on the Intex website...

Took down to level again still about 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 off level

There is a little more to using a water level. After attaching the hose to two objects, place them next to each other and at the same height. Look at the water in the tube, each side should be at the same height in the tube. You can mark the tube somehow and now you know at what height “level”...

Took down to level again still about 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 off level

I’ve been using a “water level” to help me prep mine. You can find info about them on this forum. I attached a vinyl hose to two jack stands and set them on the pavers. I also added some food coloring to the water. The water in the hose could be considered the water in the pool and how high or...

    When to add salt?

This may need to be in the SWG forum but since it’s an Intex XTR with the saltwater system I thought here would fit too. We have finally erected the pool and are awaiting the building inspectors approval before filling. Once we start adding water, when should we start adding the salt? Should the...

Pavers questions for Intex 24x12 rectangular pool - two together

I’m putting up the same pool and I decided to go with the 4” thick construction blocks side by side. I used a hand tamper to compact the soil beneath them too. I’ve seen other people on here use them. I can’t imagine they would crack.

Taking down pool to re level

I’m in the middle of preparing my yard for a pool. I have been using a “water level” to get my pavers level. It’s basically a vinyl hose with water in it that’s been fixed to two objects. You set it on something that you know is level and mark the hose where the water level is. Then move it to...

What Freight Co does Intex ship with?

We purchased an ultra XTR pool direct from Intex. They finally shipped it and provided a PRO number but not the freight company’s name. So we cannot track it.... I’ve emailed asking for the information but haven’t heard back. Does anyone know what freight companies they have used? So I can try...

    Intex pool supply chain disruption??

Around April 15th we started looking at Intex’s website for a pool. Over the next few days we noticed the round pools were selling out. So we bought a 24’x12’ rectangle ultra XTR saltwater pool on the 22nd. Two days later that model was sold out. But the pool didn’t ship until yesterday May 7th...

Availability of Intex Pools (COVID-19 impact)

We ordered a 12 x24 Saltwater Ultra XTR on Intex website on 4/22. Our order status still says Awaiting Fulfillment. The week before ordering we were watching the other models sell out. That’s when we pulled the trigger. Now, the one we ordered is sold out.

    Before I pull the trigger...?

Thanks for all of the info. I have been reading, and reading, and reading, I am very appreciative of all the info. I feel like with TFP I’ll be successful. We pulled the trigger on a 24’x12’ XTR with saltwater system. Over the course of a week we watched as the Intex website sold out of the...

    Before I pull the trigger...?

We are considering an Intex Ultra XTR 20’ round as our first. We have 4 kids all 10 and under. We haven’t purchased anything yet. This would be a pool we would use 2-3 seasons before we move. So we would prefer to keep costs lower. But we would like a saltwater system and to make the right...

    Thinkin’ bout a pool...

With the current state of things we are considering a pool for my 4 kids, ages 10, 8, 6, & 2. We cancelled our beach vacation so the kids will be looking for some outdoor activities. Otherwise they’ll be glued to their screens all summer. This will have to be an above ground setup as we will be...
