I have learned a lot here in a short time. My question would be what would be the ideal CYA level for very sunny Las Vegas? I have seen everything from 30ppm up to 100ppm.

No.... just exploring all options. I see you all are big on the BBB method and thats cool, but i travel a lot and can only service my pool once a week or so. So bottom line I wont be able to add a little bleach every night. I asked about cal-hypo in another thread and that got shot down...

I searched here for something on this topic and came up empty. Is that a good way to chlorinate and are there pool service companies out there that use the chlorine gas? Any downsides?

Can I use Cal-hypo and not use tabs? Outdoor pool in VERY sunny Las Vegas. Or do I need to use tabs to raise CYA? If so what do you think would be a good CYA level for a hot sunny climate?
