    Where did the water go?

There’s most likely a hole in the bottom of the shell to keep the pool from floating due to ground water. It will be filled in when plastered.

    Decking and skimmer cracks

Here’s the way mine was done. The patio and expansion joint goes around the skimmer box , and we put coping over it. I had them do it this way just for the problem you’re having now. The patio doesn’t come in contact with the skimmer box.

Tree Removal Prior to Pool Build

Had quite a few loblolly pines that were taken down about 13 years ago , due to a large fire. The stumps were cut at ground level and left to rot . The tap roots , which went straight down, some 6 to 8 feet deep , rotted away and left deep holes in the ground. Some weren’t apparent till you...

Help a math challenged guy with pool coping radius?

When I cut the limestone capping for these walls I used half inch foam insulation board to make my templates. It’s easy to cut , it maintains its shape, and it’s inexpensive.

    Foam expansion joints at skimmers

I have flagstone coping and I had them also place the flagstone over the skimmer housing. They then poured the concrete decking up to the flagstone that is over the skimmer housing , with self leveling Sikaflex between the two materials

    Foam expansion joints at skimmers

I was worried about the same thing. I had them put the same material I had for the coping over the skimmer housing , and then poured the concrete decking up to it , with a mastic joint separating the two.

New Pool Build Leander, TX(Austin) - Finishing Touches

Our pool was built 2 years ago and has equalizer lines on both skimmers. It allows water to continue to flow through the skimmer in the event your skimmer basket becomes clogged. My skimmers have a door on the bottom that you can pivot over the equalizer hole to block it off if you want.

And Where all my stabilizer went? You said you are using the drop test to check the stabilizer , are you sure...

New Pool in Houston, TX - Completed August 2021

I can’t speak for the spacing of your rebar , that should be called out in the engineering plans for your pool. The 2 to 3 inches your questioning , I believe they are talking about how far the rebar is embedded in the Gunite.

2” connected deck to bond beam okay?

Had this same thing happen on my build. I didn’t want the decking to go from 2 inches to 4 inches , I figured that would be the perfect place to crack. I had them chisel the exposed Gunite at a 45 degree angle , put the spacer foam down , and then pour the deck. It’s been 2 years and so far so...
