    Bleach prices 2013

We are in Maryland. This is our first year opening our pool -- and thanks to the advice on TFP, I went out and bought some 12% bleach. My mistake -- I started with the Pool Store. $25 for 4 gallons. We needed more. I was shopping at BJs and found 4 gallons for $13.25. WOWA! No more pool store...

First Year Opening -- Not sure what to do

Tested about 45 minutes after the last post -- and FC was already down to 5.2. SO, I made a decision to add another 2 gallons of 12.5% chlorine. My husband was coaching my son's baseball game -- so it was now or 5 hours later. I opted for now. He added another 2 gallons (thank you pool...

First Year Opening -- Not sure what to do

Okay, we are ROLLING! I said I would post in a few days -- but I'm excited! We did the brushing, ensuring everything was clean, ran the robot to pick up any extra goop on the bottom, made sure there were no leaves floating on the top surface, and added the liquid bleach. Brushed some more...

    What's your pool cleaners name?

kyle11 -- we ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE our 9400. It was our first (second year with our pool) so we did not have the 9300 before. It does an amazing job. Best thing it picked up so far was a swimming cap! LOL! Since this was our first time opening our pool, we were frankly amazed at the level of...

    Retaning wall and patio lights!

Curious if you have come across these: http://www.elementalled.com/catalogsear ... r+&x=0&y=0. We, too, have a retaining wall. There is a walkway / large patio area. But, 1/2 of the pool has a retaining wall (which is at a seated height). I've been thinking about using the waterproof light...

First Year Opening -- Not sure what to do

THANK YOU AGAIN for the help. I am honestly scared and don't want to mess up. You are giving me the confidence to do this on my own. I was on the edge of going back to the pool store in the AM. They had me convinced I had a phosphate problem -- and needed a different chemical. AH HA! NOT ME...

First Year Opening -- Not sure what to do

Thanks -- I'm open to any advice. I'm still on crutches -- so I want to hit whatever store I can today so my husband can add the chemicals when he gets home from work. That is a thought about the bleach. I guess I thought with that much, it should have worked. I did purchase it from a pool...

First Year Opening -- Not sure what to do

Bought four gallons of liquid bleach (12%). I added three gallons (I should say -- my blue colored plaster is still blue!!! HAHAHA!). I tested about 6 hours after adding the Liquid Bleach (Wednesday PM) -- FC was up to 2.3. Everything else was the same. Well -- tested again this AM (Friday AM)...

First Year Opening -- Not sure what to do

We opened our pool about four weeks ago. I did a great job last year (first year -- pool was done and opened on Memorial Day). We kept everything in check. :-) I was quite proud of myself. HOWEVER, I am finding myself very confused now about what to do. I had knee surgery five weeks ago -- and...

LOTS of rain -- what to do???

Okay -- so I have two different testing kits that I'm working with at home (I have a son that is facinated with chemistry -- so we have a few kits around). :-) I am relying on the two testing kits THEN going to the pool supply store. I am only *four* days into our pool experience (once it was...

We have a new inground pool (LOVE IT!). PB came out and got us started on Wednesday afternoon. Pool has a DE filter; 18x38 + 8x7 kiddy area. I've been taking the water to a local store to have the water tested for the past two days -- and we are doing great chemically. I did a shock this AM (as...

Freeform pool in Texas - Started 3/27/12 - FINISHED!!

Re: Freeform pool in Texas - Started March 27th - Pictures Thanks for the feedback. I am worried about it feeling rocky - and it hurting your feet. However - when applying logic - I don't think the finish would be so popular if that was the case. If you have time one day after you get in to...
