    She won't stop eating chlorine!

Yesterday Today I put all my cleaning equipment in the pool when I brought it to mustard shock levels just in case because of how mustard clings. Assuming it's not mustard and you are correct, say I let the FC drop to 16 over the course of the day, your advice is to keep it at 16 until I...

    She won't stop eating chlorine!

Forgot to add, after the initial vacuum and scrubbing, the water was a cloudy green but nothing terrible as the vacuuming was thorough and slow so most of it was captured. The water after day 1 was clearer but slightly cloudy with no hints of green/yellow. On day 2 the cloudiness disappeared and...

    She won't stop eating chlorine!

To begin, I have an above ground pool that contains 16,500 gallons and it's a saltwater pool. I opened the pool and maintained it (well, it pretty much maintains itself with the Chlorinator) until we went on vacation from June 15th to June 29th. We set the Chlorinator at 25% and covered the...

Is CYA needed to startup at SWG pool?

I've been running a SWG for 4 years now and just replaced my CompuPool with a Circupool unit after the CompuPool unit shorted at the cell and literally melted down and cracked the enclosure. This will be my 5th season with a SWG and I can tell you that I'll never look back. Get a tes kit in the...

In The middle of a shock and ran out of R-0871

    It was a hard fought battle yesterday and today: Day 1 T1: 7PM - tested at 0.5-1.0ppm, added 5 gallons of 8.25% Bleach to reach 28ppm Day 1 T2: 8:45PM - tested at 2.5ppm! W.T.F! added another 5 gallons of 8.25% Bleach to reach 28ppm Day 1 T3: 10:45PM - tested at 13.0ppm ... heading in the right...

In The middle of a shock and ran out of R-0871

I placed an order with TFTestkits and it should be here tomorrow afternoon, but I'm in the thick of it and only have enough to test about 20ppm and my shock is at 28 (SWG pool with 70 CYA). Does anyone know where I can go pick some up ... I'm in the eastern panhandle of WV and my local Fhlor...

Need advice on a timer ...

Got the box in today, had it up and running in under an hour after a short trip to Lowes ... thanks for everything! Water is spot on, just need to plumb in the SWG this weekend and add the salt. [attachment=0:2ncqit2c]2012-05-23 at 19-07-47.jpg[/attachment:2ncqit2c]

Need advice on a timer ...

Thanks again ... I owe you a beer or two ;) TA is dropping slowly but surely ... started at 260, currently 130. After TA is nailed and pH is at 7.4, Borates are next up on the list (need more Muriatic acid for pH offset) and then once everything tests out within my target ranges for SWG setup...

Need advice on a timer ...

Thanks so much! Figure why reinvent the wheel since we both have the same setups and I haven't wired mine up yet.

Need advice on a timer ...

just so I have it straight in my head, your setup goes: Electrical Line From Home >> Pedestal with T103-R >> GFCI receptacle with cover & 2 outlets >> pump & SWG pluged in ... so the timer in essence controls all power to the area ... is this correct?

Need advice on a timer ...

Thanks Sturge33 ... looks like we have the same SWG to boot! :D Can you do me a huge favor and get some pictures of your setup and share them here? Thanks in advance if you do!!!

Need advice on a timer ...

Didn't keep it at 220 because the pedestal that everything will plug into (pump is already plugged into this) is 110 on a 20 amp CGFI 2 receptacle outlet.

Need advice on a timer ...

I have just (yesterday) finished filling the pool with water after I replaced the liner about a week ago. I have an 27'x52" AGP with roughly 15,500 gallons of water in it. I have a SWG that I'm going to fit into the system after I stabilize the water to my target settings for a SWG system. My...

First Time Closing AGP - Tons of Questions!

Well, jugs are one thing I have PLENTY of ... roughly 30+ empty 182oz Bleach jugs (rinsed) are piled up in the basement :-)

First Time Closing AGP - Tons of Questions!

Awesome, will add that to the list. About the cover install ... do I let a solid cover drape to touch the water inside the pool? I plan on installing cover rail clips and then using the shrink wrap around the edges. Any other advice?

First Time Closing AGP - Tons of Questions!

Thanks Bama for the quick reply ... about the solid cover: How do you clear accumulated water off the top during the fall/winter/early spring? I assume you have a pump of some sort???

First Time Closing AGP - Tons of Questions!

I have a 27' AGP and will be closing it soon and need to buy a cover. I'm curious as to which to buy since I have seen solid (water pools on top) and mesh (filters debris, but lets water past). If you had to do it over again, which would you get and why? Also, Should I cover the water with the...

    Woooooo Borates

I just wanted to chime in and praise the borates in my pool. Prior to adding borates, my PH was drifting upward daily! So, after having the pool up and running for 2 weeks, I added borates. That was almost 3 weeks ago now and my PH has been rock solid! The only adjustment I have had to make is...

44" of water ... what water!

What you are seeing is the camera looking at the wall/cove/floor (in order from top to bottom in the image). The wall to floor seam of the liner (bottom horizontal line) is at the bottom of the cove and the top of the cove is the color delineation about 1/2 down the image. Note that the vertical...

44" of water ... what water!

Just thought that I would brag a little. I took this picture to file a claim on my liner ... notice the patch on the vertical seam at the top of the picture. Also notice the horizontal bottom seam where the wall piece laps the bottom pieces ... yes, it appears to have been "torn" from the...

Matter of fact, I'd like to patch the liner and keep the replacement on hand as long as possible to be honest ... what would you do and why?

hole patch not holding ... can you help?

Well, it's been over 2 weeks since my last reply and I have since filed a claim with the liner manufacturer and with a little strong arming was able to get them to replace the liner. I have been told that a new liner will ship this coming Monday (5 days away) ... we shall see. Now, since my...
