Grill Island (thanx TFP forum for links/ideas etc.)

It really wasn't that hard. The link to the guide I posted was really helpful. Building with steel drywall studs was easier than with wood. Stucco was the most challenging part. (I really don't like doing stucco!!)

Grill Island (thanx TFP forum for links/ideas etc.)

Aquarite Not generating - lights not on

Arrgh, looks like the current limiter on ours just crapped out. I contacted the local pool supplier who is advising me that because the circuit board was replaced last year, it's not original equipment and will not be covered under warranty even though it is still within the three year warranty...

When you aren't swimming, what are you riding?

Have a 1980 Sportster I haven't touched in years. Gonna finish up my car, fix my sailboat, and eventually I'll get to the bike. Yeah, I have too much stuff. Pesky job gets in the way of my hobbies.

15x34 New pool in Tampa Bay Florida

We designed a similar style pool here in Oldsmar. You won't regret the full width steps and sun shelf at one end. I might recommend sleeves for umbrellas in the sun shelf, but it might be too late. Looks great regardless.

Hayward Aquarite displaying 0 instant salt ppm+no current

Re: Hayward Aquarite displaying 0 instant salt ppm+no curren I think you're right. I took a look at it today upon start up and it read instant salt and was sending current to the cell. I didn't time the on/off cycle, however. Gonna presume it's functioning properly unless I have evidence of...

Hayward Aquarite displaying 0 instant salt ppm+no current

Hey folks, I just had my six month old Hayward Aquarite board replaced 'cuz it was randomly changing the T3-15 setting and showing zero instant salt ppm and sending zero current to the cell. Eventually the display was just showing gibberish. The new one is showing zero ppm on its instant...

Is my thermometer lying to me?

I have three thermometers. The one floating around the pool and the SWG panel have both reached 91 deg. The one in the skimmer has hit 88. I think they're all a little optomistic. We do a fair amount of snorkeling in Florida springs which are 72 deg. year round. Our three year old bails...

Six months in and I have mustard algae!!!

Thanks for the replies. I think I just need reassurance like every other newb. I also think I misunderstood the recommendations and expected 24 hrs of FC over 30 would kill all the mustard algae rather than interpreting it as the first step in the process. I'll keep the FC over 20 'til it...

Six months in and I have mustard algae!!!

Re: Six months in and I have mustard algae!!! edit: HALP! Arrrgggghhhh!!!!! I dump in enough chlorine to raise the FC to 33.5 Sunday night. It has dropped to 29 by morning so I bring it up to 32. It drops over a couple of hours to 28, so I bring it back up to 31.5. The cover is off the...

Six months in and I have mustard algae!!!

 I really thought I had a handle on the chemistry thing. Numbers were: FC 4.5 CC .5 TC 5.0 pH 7.5 T/A 100 CH 460 CYA 50 Temp. 84 deg I'm adding Muriatic Acid nearly weekly, but I'm not too worried about it. This year we've been hit with an Oak Pollen Armageddon. Despite the fact...

    Advice before I sign a contract....Oldsmar, FL

Thanx, I'll ask about a second light. Any idea what it should cost? Bigger pad for potential solar in future...check. I'll prolly discuss adding area to the sun/tanning shelf and see what it will cost. Yeah, lots of umbrella sleeves. I was actually thinking of adding a 4" sleeve for a...

    New in Oldsmar, FL... builders????

I've spent the last few years restoring a 1920's Spanish-med style house, and I've realized I should have let the house sit and put in a pool first. :hammer: It is Florida after all. Our little boy is three and loves swimming so I'm thinking sooner rather than later is a good idea. I've...
