Ok well the numbers look better today (not that they were all that bad) however my CYA went from 65 yesterday after we drained some water and refilled and today it's back up to between 85-90. Got my FC numbers up to 4 but my CC is now 0 and PH is back down to 7.8. T/A is still high at 175 but...

So it looks like I can bring the pH down with Borax but the pool calc doesn't give me a figure for that?

Ok pool refilled and new numbers. FC 1 CC .5 TC 1.5 pH 8.2 T/A 250 CH 150 CYA 65 So the CYA is much better but the PH and TA are up. FC and CC are down. So I recalculated and added some more bleach to the pool (29oz on the calc) and will test again in a little bit.

Ok sig fixed, water drained and refilling now.

While that is going on, another question. The pool calc said that to go from 1.5 to 4 it would only take 24oz of Clorox to hit target. That doesn't seem like a lot in the scheme of things but is that correct? and to shock the pool my guess is that you have to do testing 2-3 times a day and...

Ok FC is now 1.5 CC is now 1 I am using heaping spoonful (little blue spoon provided in kit) of R-0870 but not sure my heaping is heaping enough. I fill the spoon and make sure it's more then just full. Is that how it's done?

Thanks Doc, glad I'm not the only one that had the idea. I can see down here where it would get pretty hot in the box so I think I am going to go the Paver route and just use the box for storage and electrical hook up.
