    TF Test kit refill questions...

I swear last year I ordered a complete refill kit for my TFP test kit. I am not finding it on the website now. Is that still an option instead of ordering refills of each thing individually? I only need fresh chemicals...I am out of CYA testing reagent and usually just order completely new...

Fixing liner that floated and is wrinkled.......

Liner was put in originally in Sept. 07. We are having temps in the upper 70-lower 80's. Will this pose a problem as it was over a year ago?

Fixing liner that floated and is wrinkled.......

We are having our liner fixed. PB agreed to fix it at no cost to us except refill water, which we are fine with. We had to move field lines to put in pool. Old field lines were left running right into overdig. When it rained the rainwater went right to the gravel beds and to the liner. We...

    Pump run time....

The pump is a single speed, not variable. I just went out and got this info from the filter... Hayward Pro Series 300 lb sand filter. Model #S244T. It says: Filtration rate GPM/FT2- 20, Filtration and Backwash design flowrate 62 GPM. The pump is a 1HP pump The SWG is a Goldline Aquarite...

    Pump run time....

My siggy is only 4 lines of text, not 5. We have not trees in our yard or immediate area. Pool is in full sun most of the day. I really think the bill only went up about $250 from our normal. We only had one bill like that and it was year before last. Last year my max was $638. We also are...

    Pump run time....

This will be out 3rd full summer with the pool. Previously we have been running the pump 24/7. I want to avoid the $750 electric bill we had. We have a heat pump, SWG, slide and 3 deck jets. I assume they will not work if the filter is off. Last year I ran my SWG at about 20-25% all season...

    Pool lights

We have 2 of the colorlogic LED lights but have a light liner. They are very pretty. The PB did tell us that we needed to pick a lighter liner to get the benefit of the lights though.

Ditching a Pool Frog system that is......questions....

When we had the pool built in Sept. 07 we had a Pool Frog Mineral thing plumbed in line with the pool. We did not get a new cartridge last year as I read more about it and decided I did not want the "minerals" in my pool water. Do I need to cut it out or can I jsut not put a cartridge in it...

Opening this week...first water test results and questions..

We are having the pool opened this week. The PB is opening it because there is no way we can get our solid safety cover into that little bag they get it into. We did loosen one end of it and got some water out for a preliminary water test. It was better than I expected. (Tested with the TF...

Big storm..lots of stuff in pool..drop in filter pressure???

We had a huge storm yesterday. Chairs blew around, plants tipped over, lots of debris in pool. I immediately put the cleaner in and checked the skimmers. The shallow end was not too bad but definitely had lots of potting soil and peat moss in it. Cleaned it out. the deep end skimmer was...

How long can a pump run 24/7 safely

I run my pump 24/7, we have deck jets, a water slide and a heat pump that will only work when it is on. That and my hubby won't agree to not running it all the time.

At what point should I raise TA? Acid questions also..

Latest test numbers: FC 6 CC 0 TC 6 TA 80 CH 260 pH 7.4 CYA last time I tested it was between 80-90, closer to 90, about 2 weeks ago. (PB also overdosed this, uugghhh) Water temp 90 I have been working on bringing my TA down from 140 where it was when PB opened the pool in April. I had thought...

Can anyone tell me about well points and liner float?...

PB is going to come out somtime this morning with a pump and put it behind the liner and see what is going on. He mentioned a leak!! He said that or massive surface water. I do not think it has rained that much. We have had pretty consistant rain about 2 times a week for the past 3 months or...

Can anyone tell me about well points and liner float?...

We have a liner pool, new last Sept. We have had a lot of rain lately and last night my girls noticed the liner was "mushy" in spots. I went out and sure enough there was water behind it. The water level in the pool never went above the coping. We have the pool crete on the bottoms and side...

How often do I need to test for salt?

I just got my TF refill kit with the salt test. How often should I test the salt? I backwash at least once a week, more if my filter pressure rises from 18 (clean pressure) to 22. I have the readout on my Goldline control but know not to trust that wholeheartedly. Also, how often do you do...

How often and how long do you run your cleaner?...

I have the Polaris 280. Right now I have it on a timer to run from 2am-7am every day. I am trying to figure out if that is overkill or not. We have no trees in our yard, pool is full sun, only thing around it is a 3 foot wide river rock bed with pots of different flowers, nothing planted in...

Solar Cover for L-Shaped Pool questions...

We have an L shaped pool. Currently we use a heat pump but do not have a solar cover. Can I even get a solar cover with a reel system for an L shaped pool? We use it so much, well the kids, I don't want to have to do it by hand every morning. I also don't want something that is tacky, is...

    What are you automating?

I have the Goldline control box. (can't remember which one right now but it is in my siggy, I am sure it is not very fancy). I run my pool lights (2 LED colorlogics), booster pump for polaris, filter, heat pump, 2 sets of extra outlets at the far end of the pool, and have another one available...

    Advice on a SWG

Like I said, we are at the upper limits per gallons on our Aquarite cell. I run the pool with a heat pump to at least 88, and most times 90 degrees, the whole season. We have 6 kids and with their friends we normally run a pretty heavy swimmer load. Heck, just with my kids most people would...

    Advice on a SWG

Our pool is pretty close to 40K gallons. We have the Aqua Rite 40K cell and I have no problems maintaining adequate FC. I have not run it over 40% yet. I am running a FC of about 8 right now at 30%. I do run the pump/filter 24/7 though. I have been very happy with it. Our pool is full sun...

    Pool Heat Pumps

We have a Hayward heat pump and really like it. It is not very fast at heating at the beginning of the season. It took about 2 days for our pool to go from 68 to 88. It also is not very efficient in the lower 50's and quits working in the upper 40's. It did allow us to swim in 90 degree...

    New Pool Owner--Need Heater help

We have a heat pump on our pool. It does not work below about 50 degrees. Being in NY I would probably not go with the heat pump if you wanted to use it to extend your season. We can get our swimming season from mid April to late October with it but we are in the South. It did take about 2...

    When to Run the Pump

I run my filter 24/7. Probably overkill but we heat the water with a heat pump and right now it needs to run to get water to the heater. I may cut it back to about 18 hours a day when the water will stay warm in July/August. Also I think the filter has to be on for my slide and 3 deck jets to...

Swimming Pool Maintenance Kit - how does the vacuum work?

It also helps to close off all skimmers/drains except the one you are vacuuming from. I have 2 skimmers and a main drain and I have to close all but either the shallow skimmer or deep skimmer in order to get the most suction out of the vacuum.
