This is why you bond your pool and equipment!

I claim no direct knowledge of the NEC, I was just responding to the post just before mine:

This is why you bond your pool and equipment!

What I heard was that it is helpful to have non-conductive safetly equipment, such as a hook, to help get someone out of the pool because you don't know what caused the problem in the first place. My electrical inspector was much more concerned with what I had done for bonding than he was with...

    Intex better than sand filter?

I agree. I owned a 15' frame and an 18' easy-set and had difficulties keeping them clean with the intex filter. At one point I calculated the area of the filter and came up with something around 15-20 sqft. That isn't going to cut it with 5 bathers in a 10,000+ gallon pool.

    Yikes. Opening after winter.

I believe the OP stated that they used liquid CYA, not a liquid FC test.

    Wow, this is tough!

If your CYA is really 60 then FC of 5 is the minimum you should be maintaining (Intex values are misleading). PH needs to come down as well. It might be worth having your municipal water tested for metals before doing a refill as some municipalities use nothing but big wells for their water...

    Need help with Green water

If I remember correctly, it is a cellulose product. All I know is that the clarifier alone did not clear my water. Once I added the Sparke Up the water cleared within a few days. My understanding is that a dirty filter always works better than a clean one because of the decreasing size of the...

    Need help with Green water

In addition to a clarifier/floc, I would suggest looking at a product called Sparke Up. It is a powder that you mix in water and dump in the skimmer. It partially clogs the filter to help it filter smaller particles. It isn't cheap but it seems to do what the vendor claims. I battled a water...

    Yet another question about levelling

I've had two Intex pools, a 15' x 36" PVC frame and an 18' x 42" Easy Set. I just eyeballed a reasonably level spot in the backyard and had no problems with them for several years. I would say that I had a difference of 2 inches from one side to the other. Because you are looking at the Intex as...

Our first pool and first Taylor test results - iron issues

Re: Our first pool and first Taylor test results - iron issu When I went through this with my Intex pools, I found that the filter that came with the pool to be adequate to filter out the rust particles - you just need to clean it often. A cartridge filter (in most cases) will filter smaller...

Our first pool and first Taylor test results - iron issues

Re: Our first pool and first Taylor test results - iron issu My personal thoughts on dealing with iron (I am on a well with a fair amount of iron). I have had two different Intex pools (15' x 36" & 18' & 48") as well as my current 18' x 33' AG permanent pool. I have always had issues with the...
