    Where to go from here?

Wow, I was just gonna ask about the same problem. I have a 1 year old jandy flo pro 1.5 hp 2speed pump that won't start when the timer kicks on. I did add an autopilot nano to the circuit this year, but everything was fine up until a couple weeks ago. The pump starts fine in low speed, and I...

Help installing Jandy 2 speed FloPro

Well, I've at least reduced the air leak(s) a noticeable extent. When the original pump failed the water in the line (both in and out) was super-heated....to the extent that a few inches of pvc either side of the pump were deformed slightly. Now there are two 3-ways that are a bit further back...

Help installing Jandy 2 speed FloPro

So you are saying that it might be ok as long as the water level doesn't go below the top of the opening to the impeller? (the lower of the two openings in the basket) After I posted last night I ran the pump on high speed and made sure all the air was out, then I shut it off. There were a few...

Help installing Jandy 2 speed FloPro

Thanks for the help guys, I've got it all wired up and installed. I did as Durk did and mounted the spdt switch to a new Intermatic T104R. The pipe fitting is/was a major pita. I'd never heard of flexible pvc til the other day....someone said it was expensive. If is less than $30/ft I swear...

Help installing Jandy 2 speed FloPro

Hi Jason, I did see that on the side.....in all of it's tiny print glory :? And your suggestion is what initially came to mind when I read the plate. But when I got on the computer to try read about it a little, I rand into stuff like this...

Help installing Jandy 2 speed FloPro

OK...showing my n00bness here a bit. I just picked up a 1.5 hp Jandy FloPro 2-speed pump. In big lettering on top of the motor it says the pump requires a controller or switch. There seems to be no direction on this in the manual, nor in any info on Jandy's site. What's the...

    Replacing filter pump motor...

Ok...I've found a couple things on ebay I'm looking at now for this. Jandy FloPro 2 speed or maybe this: 1.5 hp 2-speed replacement motor I think the first option (complete unit) would be a better route to go as I'm not sure what all was damaged with the over heating episode.

    Replacing filter pump motor...

our rate is very low...which actually confuses me a bit. I calculate we are under $.08/kwh. For this pump, max load amps are 9.6 @ 230V = 2208 watts. Now, we were running 24/7 the first half of last summer but I started manually turning them off at nights (when I remembered) and then...

    Replacing filter pump motor...

Hi everyone....want to make sure I'm not totally screwing up here... Here's the scenario: been clearing up the swamp from the winter...had washed the filters a couple times already but pressure was still kinda high (I think). Came home from work and as soon as I went to the back yard I knew...

Thanks TFP.... truly great folks who *really* know their stuff. Only difficult part of maintaining the pool now is the stuck up attitude I have to deal with for the very occasional trip to the pool store. Can we get a forum section for that? ;-)

New Member - Chlorine block-high CYA

Cool read. Overall, I'd say you came out pretty good on this.....I've read where others have spent quite a bit more in time/frustration/money before they learn about this place. Pretty cool place huh Ed? I just recently discovered it myself so I know exactly what you're feeling right now :)...

    I think I'm settling in...

    I think I'm settling in...

Well, I guess this is mostly a "Thank You" post for all the great info I've learned from this site. So far I'm feeling pretty fortunate with how well everything has turned out so far. For the past 7 or 8 days, the numbers each evening have been the same. Chlorine level showing at 2 or maybe a...

I think I'm pretty close (newbie)

OK, well I did continue to add a couple more drops and it move more solidly into blue. I didn't know though if it would just continue to get 'bluer' the more I added . I should probably re-run that test. I'm actually surprised the results were as high as they were considering what the pool...

I think I'm pretty close (newbie)

OK, TFT-100 and Speed Stir in house today :) Just ran first test. For the most part the tests seem simple enough, although the CYA test seems like it's a little "fuzzy". I can definitely see where 2 people come up with different readings there. On the CH test, it says to look for it to turn...

I think I'm pretty close (newbie)

Do you use it for any of the other tests as well? The CH test is probably my biggest "worry" area since it's an unknown at this point. FC has been noticeably better with the added CYA. Doesn't drop as much from day to day. Last couple evenings I've added about 8 cups of bleach each night...

I think I'm pretty close (newbie)

Finally got the TF-100 ordered today. Was unsure about the speedstir, especially given it's price. I went ahead and included it, but if you guys think it's something I won't really benefit from I guess I could just cancel that part of the order.

I think I'm pretty close (newbie)

Cool. To me, this makes just so much more sense than what they were trying to tell me at the store today. Preliminary evidence already strongly suggests that my pH is much more stable after I lowered the TA a little. I've got a sock in the skimmer basket right now with the CYA in it and will...

I think I'm pretty close (newbie)

Sweet! From my studying so far, that's what my gut was telling me. I had an inkling my CYA was low from the winter combined with pretty swampy opening conditions. Was worried it was 0, but from what I've read that's somewhat uncommon. To answer zea's questions: 1) Last year was first time...

I think I'm pretty close (newbie)

Hello TFP! First post, but have been reading a bit for several weeks now....amazing resource. As much as I am online in other forums Lord knows why I didn't seek online help last year (first season with pool) Needless to say, I'm both overwhelmed as well as extremely impressed with the...
