I have a few more questions if you don't mind. Would I need the RJ model? What is a flow sensor or flow control? Is that something I should consider? I attached a few pics of my plumbing set up.

Which model Aqua-Trol (is that Hayward?) would be a good fit for my pool? I believe mine is 14,000 gallons, AGP of course. I read that you should get a SWG that is for a capacity much larger than what your pool actually is. Is that true?

Would you recommend the Intex over the ChlorEase? What else would be a consideration at maybe a few hundred dollars more? Thanks for the reply.

The pool store wants me to get a ChlorEase CL02 Ultra Saltwater Chlorinator. It is $299. Is this a good unit for my pool or do you have a better recommendation? Thanks!

    Plumbing Help

Hey Guys! I have to replace one of the valve's in my above ground pool's plumbing and wanted to get your input on how I should do it as I am not much of a handyman but I can definitely follow detailed directions! The valve was frozen shut so I tapped it with a rubber mallet and both ears broke...

    Manual Pool Vacuum

I have a 24' above ground pool. I am looking for a really good manual vacuum. The robot one that came with it is a joke. I want to actually vacuum the pool myself and am not worried about the extra work. There is a good bit of leaves in it now because of the winter but during the summer...

    Need Help Again

Hello Forum! Ive been away for a while and my 24' above ground pool was neglected in my absence. The water is a light murky green and I was wondering what I need to do to get it back in shape. I was planning on getting it crystal clear again and keeping it that way all winter. I live in...

    Help with BBB

Alright....I have all weekend to get this going correctly. I will test again shortly and post. Other than bleach and stabalizer what else do I need to have on hand? I cannot find the pH lowering chemical (muriaic acid) at Lowes or Wal-Mart. Is this something I need to get at a pool shop?

    Help with BBB

I apologize for the delay...had a business emergency to deal with. I have the 6 pounds of CYA and the 2 quarts of bleech in the pool and the filter is running 24/7 now. My TF-100 has shipped but I will take some readings with the Wal-Mart kit today after work and post the results to see where...

    Help with BBB

Checking in one more time before I go to Wal-Mart today. Ordered my TF-100 but will pick up the small Wal-Mart test kit today to get started. You are saying that I should add 2 quarts of 6% bleach and 6 pounds of CYA (this is shock correct?) to the water first to get started? Is there a...

    Help with BBB

Thanks guys! Exactly what I was looking for. Will the small test kit from Wal-Mart be enough to get me started while I wait for my TF-100 to get here or would I be better just taking a sample to a pool store for the first test?

    Help with BBB

We just finished filling up our brand new 24' x 54" AGP with water...all electric work is done. It is now time to treat the water. The pool dealer is wanting to sell us something that is copper based instead of chlorine but I want to use the BBB method. I have been reading the links to the...

    Need Help With Electrical Requirements

Next question concerns the bonding. What part is he talking about here at the 3:02 mark? I do not understand what is needed here for the attachment to the skimmer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6KMtrIa2x4

    Need Help With Electrical Requirements

I am starting to work with an electrician and in order to save money I am going to do as much of the "non-electrical" work myself...digging the trenches...buying the materials, etc. I thought it would a good idea to list the parts I am getting for the installation and even show some of the work...

    Need Help With Electrical Requirements

Thank you very much for this, it should help a lot when talking to electricians. How can I find out if the bonding of the pool is required in Mississippi? Does everyone have to do this?

    Need Help With Electrical Requirements

Thank you again for all the great information, I really appreciate it. So it looks like I need a line from from my fuse box (which is behind the rear wall of the house...how do they do that?) to the pool pump in a trench and in conduit where it will be hard wired into the pump and have it's own...

    Need Help With Electrical Requirements

Thank you for the information. I know absolutely nothing about these pools. My wife and I decided to get one for this summer and went to the local Clearwater Pools and Spas in Brandon, MS to pick out one. I believe the brand is Wilbar but I will find out for sure and the model is the...

    Need Help With Electrical Requirements

The only options available for this pool was a 1.5hp 1speed or the 2hp 2speed pump. You are saying the 2hp pump is going to cost me more and not filter as well? How would it not filter as well? I want to have my information ready when I ask the pool salesman about it. Also, is everyone...

    Need Help With Electrical Requirements

Thanks for the reply. The 2-hp 2-speed setup comes with the pool in a package deal so I have no choice in that. I guess it is better to have "too much" than not enough. So you are saying that a 240V GFCI circuit would be more desirable than a 120? The 240 gives more "headroom" so to speak?
