    Who Has The SMALLEST pool?

I understand. I have seen others with this type of little pool that use that drain plug for the intake. Some of them even drill a hole midway up to put the return, but I don't want to do that.

    Who Has The SMALLEST pool?

Yes you're right. Next season I will probably put the intake at the bottom where the drain plug is.

That was certainly quite a project.

    Who Has The SMALLEST pool?

Yes, I'd say 61K gallons trumps 500 gallons.

    Who Has The SMALLEST pool?

I get the sarcasm, especially from someone with a monster of a pool. Mine is but a flea by comparison. But if the threshold is a tiny pool that's filtered, you won't have people posting ones like this:

    Who Has The SMALLEST pool?

I do. And the pump plug itself also has a GFCI built into it.

    Who Has The SMALLEST pool?

Well even though it's made to be used as a pool, I did buy it at Tractor Supply. Lots of troughs for sale there.

    Who Has The SMALLEST pool?

I'm thinking it's me. If we're counting pools you filter, and not simply a wading pool. After a couple of summers of using one of those fragile inflatable pop-up pools, I decided to go heavy duty with one that will last a long time. I'm the only one who uses it. I can work on a tan and cool off...

DIY 1000 gal Intex SWG ... pool chem newbee

Hi Joshman, I just bought one of these from the feed store today. Having it delivered tomorrow. Can the hole that's already at the bottom of the tank (with the plug) be used as a line out to the pump, or is it too small?

    Liquid Chlorine Question

Thanks folks, that makes sense. I'll buy be some new product. I've also got muriatic acid that is equally as old, but that stuff is as overbearing as always. Guessing that's ok.

    Liquid Chlorine Question

Can liquid chlorine lose it's punch after a couple of years of sitting in the shed? I use the liquid variety for my AGP. I needed to raise the chlorine level, and used some from a bottle that had been sitting for 2 years. Before adding, I took a bit of a smell, and then a deeper one because I...

    Stock Tank as Small Pool?

8 feet. That's what my current pop-up pool is. Just enough room for me and my float. :)

    Stock Tank as Small Pool?

I had to check that out for myself, and you're right. I'd actually prefer a rectangle to a circle, as it fits my yard better. Dumpster Pools

    Stock Tank as Small Pool?

It's that time of year again. I've been looking at hard plastic stock tanks off and on for the last couple of seasons. Each time, I'd just settle for the pop-up pool and think 'maybe next year'. But this time I'm more interested, simply because of the durability of the hard plastic, with no...

Intex Hard plumbed and getting there on the TA.

I like those twist valves. They seem like a much better option than the lame plunger type.

    Thoughts on this Filter/Pump

Thanks for your input. I guess I was thinking along the lines of the sand being a pain to replace when the time came.

And so it begins - End so it ends (first stage)

Re: And so it begins You work quick! And you can still enjoy the pool for a good couple of months before the weather cools.

    Thoughts on this Filter/Pump

Anyone have one of these or dealt with this company? http://qualityinflatables.com/sp1.html I'd prefer this to similarly priced sand systems. Just easier to handle when the season is over.

Any opinions on the Intex sand filter? about $200

The link to Amazon shows 46 people gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars. Considering most other Intex products on Amazon are not well received, I'd say that speaks well about the sand filter/pump.

What is the best way to raise the CYA?

That's exactly what I did. It's amazing how a little bit of stabilizer will retain the chlorine levels.

The 603 is probably the worst pump ever made. You definitely downgraded in that department. I just did the opposite. I upgraded from the 603 to the 637R. It's filtering twice as much water per hour. Seriously, get another 637. I got mine new from Amazon for $39, plus $10 to ship.
