Removing CC from indoor pool w/ UV or ozone?

I rephrased my question as the system came with ozone, but I question if I made the wrong choice. I'm not concerned about the cost to do it correctly. Just want to make sure I use the most efficient system and have seen comments suggesting either ozone or UV. It is sounding like UV was/is the...

Removing CC from indoor pool w/ UV or ozone?

I have a light load 2600 gal. covered indoor pool with ozone system. But I question if UV would better to eliminate CC. I see both are mentioned to help with an indoor pool, but my question is: is one better than the other for removing CC? The concern I have about ozone is getting it to dissolve...

Re: Alternative sanitizers and "chemical free" pools--The Tr I happen to be browsing around and looking at a swim spa that I never heard of and they claim to use a chlorine free system: Third Paragraph. But Spectra Light UV Disadvantages of Hydrogen Peroxide use in Swimming Pools & Choosing...

    Copper removal

I have the smaller Metaltrap and I can not say how effective it is. I filled my pool recently with it, but still had metal precipitate out of the water. Before filling, I tested the unfiltered supply water for copper and iron with both reading zero. I do have some stainless components in the...

Alternative sanitizers and "chemical free" pools--The Truth!

Re: Alternative sanitizers and "chemical free" pools--The Tr Any comments about hydrogen peroxide used with ultraviolet to replace chlorine? I just happened to come across this article, "Could Chlorine in your Pool be Affecting your Skin?" and I'm curious if hydrogen peroxide/ultraviolet is a...

Benefits to the Speedstir for the Tf-100

Thanks for the clarification. I had just bought the DPD test and speedstir so I can have a more accurate reading of FC and CC to see how the addition of the ozone generator is effecting my indoor pool. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't over reading the results by one drop every time.

Benefits to the Speedstir for the Tf-100

I wanted to try the FC/CC test again before I better try to explain my question. In both tests I'm using the speedstir, one with the light and one without the light. 1. Without light: 2 drops needed to remove pink, third drop does nothing 2. With light: 2 drops needed to remove pink, third...

Benefits to the Speedstir for the Tf-100

I just recently bought a speedstir when I was replacing my old taylor kit. Now, I only wish I had known about it sooner. I really like the light and the way it seems to make the colors fluorescent. But ... When I'm testing for FC and CC, I get to a point that the pink is gone, but because of...

    Caution: Superflo specification issue

Thanks for the caution. I'm researching pumps and saw the 1/2 and 3/4 hp specs had the same amperage and SFHP. But the head was better on the 3/4, so I was leaning towards the 3/4. After seeing your post and looking into the Whisperflo, I see that the 3/4 Superflo you received matched the 3/4...

Filtration for a new indoor swim spa

Sorry for the lapse, for some reason, I didn't get the email notification to the replies. My fish tank pump is like the a peristaltic pump. I use a tube that is somewhat resistant to chlorine and replace it every so often. I'll need to find one that is more resistant or at least have the...

Filtration for a new indoor swim spa

Ok, my chemistry is a little rusty. Is liquid bleach added to the pool just as good as adding a SWCG? I have a DIY liquid dispenser (old aquarium equipment) that can add bleach. It will drip in bleach over a given period. Assuming the ozone added is going to be lower than the recommendation...

Filtration for a new indoor swim spa

Installed an indoor fiberglass swim spa and I'm finally getting around to plumbing the thing. Pool manufacturer provided the 1 hp pump, 75 sq. ft. cartridge filter and the optional 0.35 g/hr ozonator (0.70 g/hr if I use a dryer). After getting everything, I researched ozone and see that you...
