    Pressure climbing rapidly

Thanks, I’ll do that then. My big fear was that it was sucking air in someplace and causing the pressure to build. That happened the first year I lived here and it wasn’t cheap to fix!

    Pressure climbing rapidly

Just opened the pool for the season today. I’m noticing the filter pressure climbing very rapidly. Like every 15 mins I’m having to bump it. I have tried flushing it out and adding new DE with no improvement. I should mention that my cover leaked and the pool is quite green. But it’s climbing...

    Freezing concerns

Thanks! During the day it seems like it'll be close to 50 most of the time and then at night dipping down to the low to like 29 a couple of nights. I'll prob just keep it running the whole time just to be safe.

    Freezing concerns

Hi, just opened my pool this week and now it looks like a snowstorm is supposed to come blasting thru on Friday and Saturday along with temps below freezing. Should I be concerned about pipes freezing up or damage to my skimmer?

Thanks! I’ll give it a try.

What can be done to shore up cracked concrete near pool edge?

I have a piece of concrete that is cracked at the edge of my pool. Part of the metal border that I'm assuming helps secure the liner is attached. Maybe 10 inches or so. Nothing is loose right now but my fear is that over the winter some moisture is going to get in there and perhaps cause an...

    Changing DE

If my filter’s pressure reading is holding steady at an acceptable level, is there any reason to change out the DE in there? I have a Perflex EC-65. Last time I flushed out the DE was back at the end of June. The pressure has pretty much held steady at around 10psi. I think I’ve bumped it twice...

Sporadic tiny air bubbles coming from return

Thanks! Load off my mind. Wouldn’t surprise me at all of it was the chlorinator. I’m on my 3rd one in 3 years. Thankfully it has been under warranty each time so it’s never cost me anything to replace it.

Sporadic tiny air bubbles coming from return

It’s a 16x32 in-ground. Vinyl liner that was installed in 2014. Pump motor and housing were replaced in 2016. Skimmer line replaced in 2017. And we just got a brand new perflex ec-65 tank in May(old one popped). We don’t have a saltwater chlorine generator. We use a chlorine dispenser which has...

Sporadic tiny air bubbles coming from return

Hi, I noticed that my deep end return sporadically has tiny air bubbles coming out. It’s not a constant flow of bubbles, it lasts less than a second and the bubbles almost look like a mist. When it happens the best way I could describe it is that it kind of looks like if you were to quickly...

    Question about lowering water level

So with all the rain near me lately I’m frequently needing to lower my water to a level where the skimmer can be effective. I have a DE filter and what I usually do is drain the water and then bump it several times to discharge the DE then recharge it. My question is, do I need to do that? Is...

    Filter tank pressure reading

Had to replace my pool filter tank this year. My old one cracked open about an hour after the pump was started up for the first time this season. The new tank is a Hayward Perflex EC65A. I have a 1.5 HP Hayward superpump running. Last year with the old tank my pressure ran between 10-12psi...

    Lowering water level question

Thanks! Yeah it’s a bump style DE filter. I’m a dummy, I have a submersible that I use to clear water off the cover each spring. I didn’t even think of that.

    Lowering water level question

This may be a dumb question but this past week we’ve gotten a huge amount of rain. Water was up over the top of the skimmer so it couldn’t do its job. I lowered the level yesterday and also flushed out the DE from my filter and added new DE to it. Of course tonight it’s pouring again and will...

Seeing a brownish/greenish buildup on floor of pool

Each day my pool is getting a buildup of whatever is in the attached photo. Especially around any bumps or creases in the liner. Can’t tell if it is algae or if it’s spitting out DE due to an issue with the filter. Looking for any advice as to how to prevent this as it’s getting annoying having...

    Pressure/Water flow issue

Thanks! Now, while it has improved, the pressure is still creeping up over time much faster than it should. Is this something that will improve or will I need to take apart the filter and clean the fingers inside?

    Pressure/Water flow issue

So just a quick update. The pool has gone back to crystal clear and the length of time between when I need to bump it has been slowly increasing. So it is definitely looking better. I went in swimming this evening and I notice a definite not so much sliminess but a slightly slippery feel on the...

    Pressure/Water flow issue

So, with algae, is it not always a greenish color or stains on the floor/walls of the pool? It can manifest as just a slight haze to the water? Sorry for all the questions. I’m just really new to this and I’m trying to do as much maintenance as I can without calling the pool company. Thanks!

    Pressure/Water flow issue

Thanks! I’ll definitely run that test. Algae never even occurred to me. I figured since the water was only like 68-70 degrees that it was something else causing it. This pool has been a nightmare since we bought the house. We keep having to fix stuff that the previous owner messed up. I...

    Pressure/Water flow issue

Hi, having an issue with my pressure shooting way up over the course of about an hour and the water flow slows significantly. This has happened quite suddenly. It first occurred yesterday. I figured it needed to be backwashed so I did that this morning. Went out for a couple hours, came back...
