Help me ID this pool brand?

Hello, pool professional here. I came across this post in my own search for this same exact part. Did you ever find it? If not, it is in fact a Wilbar pool. Laceygirl is correct when she says that Wilbar manufactures and rebrands all the time. Seaspray is a subset of Wilbar, just like Vogue...

Why would a Hot Tub turn cloudy when I add ph Increaser

Calcium precipitation was my first thought, or else the Nature 2's silver being knocked out of solution? Did you notice any color change along with the cloud? Do you know what the CH of the tub's water is?

Am I the only that is dealing with the CYA being too high?

Re: Am I the only that is dealing with the CYA being too hig I know I'm a little late, but if it makes you feel any better, knackll, I run into this problem all the time. I manage a pool store and regularly test my customers' water. I try to educate my customers as much as possible on proper...

Need help picking a pump and filter!

I would recommend a Hayward sand or DE filter as well. An S160 will hold 100lbs of sand, an S180 will hold 150lbs. Either one is ok. As for DE an EC40 would be most appropriate for that size. I'm not a fan of cartridge, save yourself a headache and avoid one. A 1 horsepower pump is more than...

    Dead animal in pool

I would if it were my pool. Dead animals are breeding grounds for bacteria and viruses. I would feel safer for my family superchlorinating the pool. You never know what that thing was carrying!

Why does pH rise with salt systems?

It has always been my understanding that one of the bi-products of a SWG is NaOH which will cause the pH to rise. Am I wrong in my understanding of this?

Importance of CYA in hot tubs

Great, that answered my question perfectly. Thanks Chem Geek! I was aware of the negative effects of too much cyanuric, though I didn't stop to take into consideration just how potent chlorine is without any. Thanks again!

Importance of CYA in hot tubs

Assuming an average hot tub of 400gal, which is used for 1 hour three times a week and covered the remainder of the time, what is the importance of the cyanuric acid in the water chemistry? The tub is only exposed to UV rays for 3 hours a week, which is 1/56th of a week which is 1.7% of a week...

    Hello from Mizu

Actually, I've been reading this forum for a while so I've already been able to help pierce the veil of pool store ignorance! I had a poor customer who just could not beat a pink algae problem even though it was a chlorine pool. I didn't realize it at the time, but it was because her CYA was...

    Hello from Mizu

Thanks for the encouragement Chem Geek! I try to cut through the bunk of sales pitches and bring true chemistry, plain and simple, to my customers. I actually attend seminars and speak with product reps frequently, so I have the "inside edge" on many of these products you never want in your...

    Hello from Mizu

Hello everyone! My name is David and I am in the big bad pool store business. :( This is my first year working in the industry, and boy am I glad I found this site sooner rather than later! I have realized just how much misinformation is given by so-called "experts" who are just salesmen in...
