My heater is showing the code EC( vs typical CE for comm. error). I have the display from insync engineering vs the hatward display. After a couple of minutes, it momentarily flashes 1.88 before going back to EC. I can't find anything related to this error code. What could the issue be?

I am changing the diffuser and the impeller on my sta-rite dyna-glas pump. I noticed that the diffuser and the impeller fit a "too" snuggly. I can't imagine this is good. But this is the first time I am doing this. Both diffuser and the impellar are barnd new. Here is a link of the video...
