    New pool Pictures

hahahaha I've seen them use flex for everything. I talked to a neighbor once who said he got an estimate for a pool by a company that used flex pipe for everything. He asked the company what happens if it collapses, and the company responded, "it shouldn't as long as you have water in them."...

Good to see they are using hard PVC not flex pipe.

    Water softned Pool Fill

I wouldn't fill the pool by using the water softener, it will run out and won't have time to recharge. It can also damage it. But hooking it up to the autofill would be fine though.

SWG scale build up after 1 week

If the scale is that bad, I would disconnect the SWG until you can test for Calcium. Or just drain and replace 50% of the water.

    Skimmer Leak

I would scrape off all the putty and cleanly apply PVC "dope" and once that dries, caulk.

    REALLY, REALLY Bad ALGAE problem

Algae will eat chlorine at low levels. I would shock the pool and hold it at 20 ppm until it holds that level of chlorine throughout the night. make sure to vacuum and clean the filter whenever the pressure rises more than 7 psi. What is your CYA at? You may need to shock to a higher ppm if it...

New Pool Build- Cleveland, Ohio- Your advice is appreciated!

I didn't have my pool built, it came with the house I bought, but from the offers I've seen, it seems competitive, a bit on the high side for a vinyl liner though. Probably because your in Ohio, not many pools there.

New Pool Build- Cleveland, Ohio- Your advice is appreciated!

Getting a VS pump is all up to you. I would also get a 3/4 hp for the main pump as well.

New Pool Build- Cleveland, Ohio- Your advice is appreciated!

How much for all? Also, I would ask him to put in 2" PVC piping and get the 3/4 hp pump. I would not get the Kreepy Krawly, it doesn't even work in my pool.

Kepping water level low during winter

Kepping water level low during winter

I would check after each storm. A more complicated solution would to buy a sump pump with automatic on/off and put it on some plastic chair with weights or something at the height needed to contain the water.

Pump overheating: too much HP for pool?

You should try reading the voltage on the pump wires. Sounds like it may be overdrawing amps.

Pump overheating: too much HP for pool?

That's why. Your using a much more powerful pump with an underpowered impeller. I'm surprised you haven't burned out the pump/seals for good. I would either A, replace the pump housing or B, return the new pump. Never mind I didn't read your changed the impeller. That's strange...

Pump overheating: too much HP for pool?

Did you just replace the motor or the whole entire pump? You should NEVER use a more powerful motor on a less powerful pump assembly.

    Pentair "Clear-pro Technology", Sand Filter

Guess I am just bias. :P But after having horrible experiences with filter cartridges and trying to clear a neighbors pool who had a sand filter, I guess it got to me.

    Pentair "Clear-pro Technology", Sand Filter

Sand may be fine for others, but with all the leaves and fine dirt that gets in my pool anything other than DE would be a waste. Also clears up the water extremely fast.

Need a cheap, reliable, easy way to drain of top of pool.

You can use the cover pump and put a plastic table or some blocks in plastic bags and drop them in the pool to where you want the water level to be at.
