    Winterizing Paramount 6-Port

I used to have a system like that. First thing is to remove the head unit. Do that by loosening the clamp and remove the cap. Then lift out the diverter. This should expose the pipes that go to the various jets. Install a rubber plug with air valve that is the correct size in the pipe and...

    A little bit of sand.

It's sand or something like sand. Some of the grains are clear some are sand. Haven't tried the hose over the returns yet. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T677A using Tapatalk

    A little bit of sand.

    What would you recommend?

    A little bit of sand.

Backwash monthly, have automatic cover so most of the time it's covered. My next step is to put a nylon stocking over the end of the vacuum and catch what I suck up to make sure I'm not just recirculating the sand. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T677A using Tapatalk

    A little bit of sand.

I keep getting a little bit of sand in the bottom corner of the pool. I vacuum it up and with no one swimming a few days later it is back. Usually a line about 1/2" wide bu about 18" long. Any ideas where this may come from? Any how to fix it? It has done it from day one and we have had the pool...

Noob Opening Pool for First Time

Don't put it in the septic system. Pump it onto the ground or back into the pool.

Have you ever had this happen after a winter?

What I see is an automatic cover that didn't have a pump on it and when the ice and snow melted it ripped the cover out of the track. Don't drain the pool. The water helps support the cover to keep it from pulling out of the track. Get a pump and pump the water off the cover. Look the situation...

How much Chlorine/Bleach is normal usage?

Seems about right to me. My DW takes care of ours and we use 8%. She says about 1/2 jug per day. BTW, she doesn't like the 10%. Says it doesn't work as well. I think it may not be as "fresh".
  14. H

    Opened today

Cleaned off the top of the cover, pushed the button to open the automatic cover, replaced the plugs with eyeball jets, had the DW get a few leaves out of the pool, replaced the pump and filter plugs, turned on the pump did a little priming and everything came on and I was Happy, Happy, Happy...

    Anybody using one of these?

Good point. There must be some kind of seal where the parts clamp together and that would be a good place for a leak.

    Anybody using one of these?

Thanks. I should have searched before posting but got excited I guess. I see you use the AutoPilot unit. Any problems with that?

Automatic Pool Cover (APC) - color options?

I've had one for a couple of years now. No fading that I can see. Very nice option. Pool stays warm without heater and stuff stays out of the pool.. We always cover it except when we are swimming or need to cool it off some.Mine is blue.

    Close in stages?

Yes ours was installed when we got the pool but I think you can add them after the fact. Mine is from here: http://www.automaticpoolcovers.net/ Nice unit. i would recommend them.

    Wow...what a mess

Three rules come to mind...References, references, and references.

    Close in stages?

We have an automatic cover and that's basically what we do all the time. If we aren't swimming, it's covered. We do try to take it off at least every couple days to air it out so to speak.

Deep end floor drain cover missing

Can you get the old screws out? If so, remove them and replace them with stainless steel screws. Should be able to find them at a big box store.

OK, REALLY - you're adding Bleach on a DAILY basis ?

For your reference, I have full sun on my pool, 90+ degree water and am using 1/2 gallon of 6% per day. CYA 40.

OK, welcome to the forum. Now take a deep breath. Ok, how much was the additional? Is it worth fighting over? Just get the pool done. Order a test kit from this site and test the water. Post results here for help. This will work out and in two weeks you will be loving the pool.

To shock or Not to Shock

I would back flush the filter. If you passed the overnight test the water is ok as far as shocking goes. Maybe you need new goggles...
