After cleaning the SWG in diluted chlorine water x 30min, I noticed the pool temp reading is way off. I also shut off the control panel breakers while doing this. It was reading ~90 deg before and now it reads 58deg. How important is this reading and is it something I can diagnose/fix? Greg

In Pool Math, I only see the effect of adding chemicals to my old established water. When starting from scratch, how much salt, liquid chlorine and CYA would I need? How do I turn off SWG while pump is running?

As I was cleaning my filters, I noticed this part is broken. Does it need to be replaced? Will it affect the function of the pool if it is damaged?

Tile area is repaired. Now i need to refill it. I don't see any specific instructions on how to fill pool in Pool School. Better to fill and then adjust chemicals I'm assuming but is there an order in which chemicals should be added?

Around 15 came off but the 30 or so surrounding ones were loose. I was planning to drain the pool anyway bc solid levels are elevated.

Cell is reading salt level at 2700 but measured level is 3600. This is triggering “check system” light. Tried to reset but it persists. I tried to save money by buying cheaper cell 2 years ago. Maybe not a good idea.

Decreasing SWG% to 0 for 1 week did the trick. Today Cl- is 5.5 and everything looks good. I'll turn it back on to 10% and monitor....unless anyone has a "magic autopilot" button I could use...

Thank you for all 3 replies. I didn't get email notification this time of them. This is not a "new" problem, I've just started paying closer attention. I would take pool sample into the store and they never mentioned elevated Cl- levels. I'll turn off the SWG% for awhile and decrease run time...

My run time is 10p-8a and pool chlorinator is at 45% currently. It has been on this setting for the past 6 months. I added conditioner since I just started my own testing and noted it to be low. Should I increase CYA to 70 (as recommended for SWG)? Or just leave as is and decrease chlorinator...

My CYA was low ~10 days ago (40ppm) so I added 1G liquid conditioner. My Cl- was 9.5 at that time. Now CYA is 50 and Cl- is 12. My understanding is target CYA is 70 for SWG pool. If I add more conditioner (Pool calculator recommends 111oz) to get up to 70, will my Cl- continue to rise? Rest...
